"Clocking in at around four-and-a-half minutes long, the season 4 trailer for The Walking Dead showed off a fair amount of detail with regard to the upcoming season highlighting life in the prison with the Woodbury expatriates, Tyreses growing role, Hershels growing discontentment, and more. One thing that was missing, though, was last seasons Big Bad, The Governor....."

To fans of The Walking Dead, this probably wont come as a surprise as the show went back and forth last season with standalone prison episodes and standalone Woodbury episodes. Doing this allowed both settings to be more fully explored as we were introduced to a batch of new characters in Woodbury like The Governor, Milton, and for awhile there, Michonne. With this season promising more introductions due to the swelled prison population, it seems smart to employ the same or a similar device, lest they try to tell too many stories at once,.....As for what well see of The Governor, one can only speculate in a thoroughly spoilerific way.
Last seasons conclusion saw the one-eyed, zombie head-collecting bad guy riding away from a pile of his bullet-riddled former acolytes, with only two scared and confused flunkies by his side. In the season 4 trailer, its quite clear that someone is acting against Rick and the prison group from the shadows, but while its easy to assume that that could be the work of The Governor, the producers of The Walking Dead like to embrace an approach that can sometimes be the opposite of obvious, so lets not assume that hes responsible
We know that the show doesnt typically use flashbacks as a storytelling device (or, at least, not in a sustained way), so any standalone episodes detailing The Governors journey from that pile to the wilderness and back again seems a bit unlikely as well.
Could we see The Governor seducing another group with his syrupy charms? Anythings possible. All we can say for certain is that The Governor is a mad man driven by revenge and un-tethered from any residual humanity that once resided inside of him, and that, regardless of whether or not we see him in horrifying fun-size increments or in standalone episodes, he will be an arresting force for the bad side of things."....
PING
Soilers? Someone craps their pants?
ping
The dam governor plot is so old and boring. Put the kid in charge, assasinate the ass, shoot the blonde, and let’s move on to more fun stuff like zombies that run.
Please let me know if you would like on or off The Walking Dead ping list.
oooooooo yummy.
Gosh hope there is a poster because should I find a job I would like to hang that up in my cubicle and remember I am behind Darryl who is protecting me. =)
Bump
I was not too happy with the acting of the individual who played the Governor early on in season 3. I felt the actor got better toward the end of the season. I guess we will see how it goes in season 4.
I know a girl who saw a picture of Darryl and she said he was “Yucky”.
She’s 6 years old. LOL
Copy it, put it on a thumb drive and take it to Staples. They will blow it up print it and laminate it for you for under $20.
There are larger versions of it that might work better. Just go to Google or Bing “images” and do a search on the key words. I had to shrink the image down, because it was too big. There might be some for sale already.
It was not this exact one but they blew it up for me.
Nice pic!
Anyone want to weigh in on book vs TV series? I just finished Compendium 1: found it compelling enough to get thru, the only zombie story that comes anywhere close to the awesome World War Z (book), but ultimately as irritating as The Age Of Innocence.
If you’re going to continue to put spoilers in the thread titles then remove me.
I am so sick of the governor storyline,to!
I didn’t post this thread, but as far as I can tell it’s somebody’s speculation on what might happen in season 4. No actual spoilers.
Let me know if you would like to be removed from the ping list. Happy to oblige whatever you’d like to do.
If its not spoilers then the word “spoiler” shouldn’t be in the title. Either way, remove me. It’s the best show on TV and I don’t need to have it ruined by these threads. This isn’t the first time the Walking Dead ping list has put spoilers in the thread titles.
My wife bought me both compendiums for Christmas. Loved them both. There are significant differences between the books and the show and I think part of that is due to the audience.
When I first read the Compendium I looked at the governor and thought the only one that could play him was Danny Trujillio. In that he was openly psychotic on the television show Morrisey plays him just as nuts but in a more controlled fashion.
