Bill Donohue comments on David Lettermans opening monologue of July 23:
Last night, Letterman mentioned Pope Francis appearance at World Youth Day in Brazil by saying, And Im telling you if theres anything the kids cant get enough of, its a 76-year-old virgin. Come on! World Youth Day. Or as the Vatican calls it, salute to altar boys.
There are some people who cant be shamed. One might think that a man who is known for sexually harassing his staff, and for serial adultery, might be cautious about making such a statement.

Agreed. Many of them are angry or depressed. Comedy seems to be a type of coping mechanism for them. George Carlin got very bitter towards the end of his life. To paraphrase,”Behind every cynic is a crushed idealist”. (Can’t remember who said it)
Carson was also a big funder of Planned Parenthood. At least he kept his crappy politics off the airwaves, though.
I never thought Letterman was funny.
But I’ve of the opinion little to nothing should be off limits for comedy. All of them make pedo priest jokes. If Bill Donohue comments about it every time it must keep him busy.
