Good subsistence food for peasants who care nothing about mad cow disease and high fructose corn syrup. And they probably take EBT cards (food-stamp debit cards).

While the "McDouble" is a buck, I recall when the Quarter Pounder was first released. Fifty nine cents! Sixty nine cents for the Quarter Pounder with cheese.

Everyone knows that Little Caeser’s is the best food value in all of history. :)

Three bucks and some change for 2 McDoubles and a large ice tea. Great for long road trips. Last all day.

McDonald's has a hidden menu item. It is known as the "10:35".

It is a McMuffin / Quarter Pounder With Cheese hybrid that is only available about that time of the day because they are transitioning from breakfast to lunch.

They all know what it is and I highly recommend it.

No burger beats an In-N-Out Double Double with cheese.

When I was in high school (a while ago) at one sitting I ate five of these cheeseburgers. When I got to the last one my friend bet me I couldn’t fit the entire burger in my mouth. I won of course!

Just today Financial Post posted an article with a “fast food hack” to get a cheaper Big Mac.

“Get a McDouble without ketchup and mustard. Instead, ask for lettuce and big mac sauce on it. You have an almost-Big Mac for around $1.39,” an employee writes.

Average price of a Big Mac in Phoenix: $4.17.

I’ll note that the Big Mac has sesame seeds on its bun, but a McDouble does not.

I’m not sure how healthy eating fast food on a regular basis is (way too salty and full of preservatives) but my one guilty fast food pleasure is the Egg McMuffin. When I am on the road and don’t have time to get a decent breakfast, I pull through the drive through for one or two of those with a cup of coffee. I think those are pretty good for you as they are made with real eggs. Just wish they had swiss cheese and bacon instead of that yellow “American cheese” and that circle of ham they call “Canadian bacon.”

Sorry, but anyone who thinks a McDonald’s double cheeseburger is the greatest food in human history has not spent any time eating in southern Italy.

The world is divided into two halves.

Places with McDonalds and places without.

Once you’ve been somewhere without them for a month you’ll understand.

White Castle for me.
I've had all the others, and McD leaves an indescribable after taste.

It is not edible. Ammonia and pink slime, no one should touch McDonald’s burgers.

The only reason we ever bought them was after going drag racing and coming home broke it was stop at McDonalds where the hamburgers were 13 1/2 cents each or $1/dozen!

If we weren’t broke we went down the street to Bobs Big Boy and had a real hamburger.

Ha! I figured that out myself. What comparable lunch can you get at the supermarket for $1?

I can only think that the McDouble is a loss leader. They make it up on the soda and fries.

But not from me. I bring my own soda, or splurge on a $1 iced coffee.

Yes, I'm cheap, at least when it comes to food.

When I'm running errands, I make a point of grabbing one. It also saves me the time of preparing lunch.
