Last time we boarded Missy, it was $6/day. And for an extra $25 she could have a bath and be ready to go home when we picked her up.

That’s really good. We paid something like $20/day and $35 for the grooming.

i know everything is way cheaper there, but the trade off is having to live there, and i’d rather not : )

pretty sure it’s $50/day and that’s at Petsmart for the two of them in one room. i know the vet has boarding and it’s WAYYYY more than that. and the dog groomer comes once per month and that’s $85 per dog. But he literally spends at least a full hour on each of them, last time i swear he had Jules in the van for an hour and a half, bc they are HAIRY beasts. The groomer has a truck and comes to you and does it right there in our culdesac. Its far more convenient than taking them somewhere.

“the doctrine that the world tends to become better or may be made better by human effort.”

Lately, it doesn’t seem to be working.

You’ve been there way too long if you’re starting to like it. ;-)

That’s because they know you’d be there at least an hour, laughing.

Probably. They had the Christmas boxes stashed in them, had to move them to the attic before cleaning them up or it probably would have been done a month ago. We need to put them up as a team and we didn’t do it.

Nice.

Speaking of Establishment Republicans, I think with the defunding non-fight they’ve officially become OPINO, Opposition Party in Name Only.

I’ve had it with them. They need to get out of the bubble in DC and see what the real world is like.

I’m glad your puppy is doing better-I hope she continues to improve. I’m sure the vet is far more expensive because of where you live, but I’m sure that doesn’t make it any easier to write that check.

I guess I’m behind the times, because I’m still getting the heartworm stuff for Husky girl from my vet-she charges $100.00 for it, cheaper than in SA, but she wants to stay in business, and no one out here has any extra money. She treats large animals and livestock, too-probably makes up the difference by charging more to non-ranchers who can still afford to buy alfalfa hay and Horse Bloom, and keep horses for riding and as pets...

I get the flea meds for the cats and dog from an online place-ValleyVet-their price on the cosequin for Husky girl is good, too.

On the way home, the classic rock station I was listening to played a block of Metallica-I got my heavy metal fix...

“Something’s wrong, shut the light
Heavy thoughts tonight
And they aren’t of snow white
Dreams of war
Dreams of lies
Dreams of dragon’s fire
And of things that will bite, yeah

Sleep with one eye open
Gripping your pillow tight

Exit light
Enter night
Take my hand
We’re off to never never-land”...
