Word For The Day, Wednesday, July 31, 2013-- deputation
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
hear it pronounced
1. the act of appointing a person or body of people to represent or act on behalf of others
2. a person or, more often, a body of people so appointed; delegation
Origin: 13501400; Middle English deputacioun < Medieval Latin dēputātiōn- (stem of dēputātiō ), Late Latin: delegation, equivalent to dēputāt ( us ) (past participle of dēputāre; see depute, -ate1 ) + -iōn- -ion
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
“Word For The Day” Ping!
In a remarkable deputation, TOTUS appointed Obama to deliver its message.
Sort of like a reputation, but the opposite...
We all need to send a deputation to the House Republican caucus to urge them to STOP OBAMACARE at all costs!!!!
For an interesting brain tease this AM, I refer all of you to http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/3049381/posts
(Were children smarter a century ago?)
Be sure to go to the original post for all of the tests. Even though there are some errors on this test, I guarantee you won’t feel so smart after reading this article. However, the excuses given in the article are even more interesting.
I'm convinced that Obama's unilateral delay of the employer mandate is unconstitutional and probably an impeachable offense. Congress passes laws and the executive branch is charged with enforcing those laws, not changing them.
"Raise your right hands. Now, I'm not sure of the words, butcha better say 'I do'."
"Good. Now yer Deputies."
Deputation - the ceremony undergone by Barney Fife when Sheriff Taylor presented him with his badge, his gun and his single bullet.
Hey, Floyd and Goober, ya’ll comin’ to my Deputation on Friday?
A deputation of deputies is called a posse.
I watched this last evening (El Dorado), followed by Rio Bravo.
Idiocracy, it's not just a movie
But I did not shoot the deputation.
A+ for shooting the sheriff.
I didn’t even check the thread before posting but it looks like a bunch of us are on the same page.
I was surprised no one had beaten me to it. But you brought visual aids.
Yes, there has been some channeling of Barney Fife.
In his Presidential deputation
Obama has the known reputation
To pick cronies & Libs
Who are free with the fibs
And political in their computation.
And extra credit for not shooting the deputy.
It’s because he only had one bullet.
True, true. But the reputation of the HSA and all of Obama’s blackshirted zombies would improve if they started worrying less about their reputation rates (among the liberals) and more about their deputation rates (among the illegals).....
Working on the meager invoices today
Hoping the customers have money to pay-
Obama’s chattering minions
Are an ill advised deputation-
Nearly everyone is tired of
Their lies and obfuscation
From the IRS to Benghazi,
The scandals far from fake-
As they talk, they tempt us
To give them a hard shake
One that clenches their teeth
And rattles up their brains
Until all the insanity departs
And common sense remains
Not sure the O-bots have common sense to begin with. LOL
Maybe a bit, but it is buried under all that other BS that they have begun to believe-a good shaking might get rid of that-it is worth a try...
Juan McCain is a hard guy to figure out.
You always do such a nice job!
I got into a little “discussion” today on Twitter with a Kool-Aid drinker, about Benghazi. I asked him why Obama/Hillary/Rice originally insisted that it was a spontaneous outburst that resulted from a video. This genius actually said that this was the best information that they had at the time. Despite aerial photography from drones, and multiple eyewitness reports. But hey, people are going to believe what they want to believe or what they have to believe to avoid admitting that the horse they backed is lame.
The uniformed speak. Ignorance is bliss.
What fun that must have been-I hope you kicked ass and took names...
I have never understood willful ignorance, nor have I ever had much patience with it-it is one reason I left case management to happily waste my education working in construction.
I’m totally serious about shaking doing some good, because people like the ones you’re talking about wouldn’t know a drone if it flew into their shower and snapped photos of them that later showed up on the internet on a sexual predator list-they would think it was a prank because it was the best information they had...
Remember, you can nor reason someone out of a position they did not reason themselves into.
