hear it pronounced
1. the act of appointing a person or body of people to represent or act on behalf of others
2. a person or, more often, a body of people so appointed; delegation
Origin: 13501400; Middle English deputacioun < Medieval Latin dēputātiōn- (stem of dēputātiō ), Late Latin: delegation, equivalent to dēputāt ( us ) (past participle of dēputāre; see depute, -ate1 ) + -iōn- -ion
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
“Word For The Day” Ping!
In a remarkable deputation, TOTUS appointed Obama to deliver its message.
Sort of like a reputation, but the opposite...
We all need to send a deputation to the House Republican caucus to urge them to STOP OBAMACARE at all costs!!!!
For an interesting brain tease this AM, I refer all of you to http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/3049381/posts

Be sure to go to the original post for all of the tests. Even though there are some errors on this test, I guarantee you won’t feel so smart after reading this article. However, the excuses given in the article are even more interesting.
I'm convinced that Obama's unilateral delay of the employer mandate is unconstitutional and probably an impeachable offense. Congress passes laws and the executive branch is charged with enforcing those laws, not changing them.
"Raise your right hands. Now, I'm not sure of the words, butcha better say 'I do'."
"Good. Now yer Deputies."
Deputation - the ceremony undergone by Barney Fife when Sheriff Taylor presented him with his badge, his gun and his single bullet.
Hey, Floyd and Goober, ya’ll comin’ to my Deputation on Friday?
A deputation of deputies is called a posse.
I watched this last evening (El Dorado), followed by Rio Bravo.
Idiocracy, it's not just a movie
But I did not shoot the deputation.
A+ for shooting the sheriff.
I didn’t even check the thread before posting but it looks like a bunch of us are on the same page.
