My knee is throbbing. Can’t stay off it and you all are steering me to OTC pain killers. Thanks.

Have you had surgery on your knee, or is it throbbing because of arthritis, or an injury? If you haven’t had surgery, try glucosamine/chondritin. It helps 40% of the people who use it. It helped me for 5 years.

I know that it worked because my knee would start hurting every time I skipped a day. I never took the soe they recommended. I took the double pills, but only one per day. Finally when I got new X-rays it showed that I had no cushion left at all, and that is why I had the knee replacement.

Also, the shots help people for a while, but they need to be renewed every few months.

I skipped shots because I was worried that if I did not have this operation before obamacare went into effect that I would not qualify — age and BMI being the disqualifying factors. Now I’m worrying about having the 2nd knee done before October. I’m not ready for several reasons, but the government is pushing me into it.

One of my orthopaedists told me that Obamacare would deny my operation. The othes have said that they don’t really know. The parameters keep changing every day. Everything is still in flux.

One of the best gifts that they gave me during my stay at Orthopaedic Hospital is an ice wrap with pockets for 2 blue ice packets and velcro straps to keep it in place. There is a seam between the pockets that allows the wrap to bend at the knee so you can get it on really tight.

Even better is one that I used at out patient rehab. That one was longer and flexible and stored in the freezer in a roll. Ready to use when you take it out — just unroll it and wrap your knee. I understand that that device is available on the Web but it costs about $60. It wrapped all the way around my knee. I am not big on cold therapy. I like heat. But these coldpacks really help.

I’m sorry you are in pain. :( I’ve been trying to cut back on my daily motrin for the lower back pain. Aging is hard work. I think it would be harder if I wasn’t active. I saw 5 deer this am at the park, including a 4 pt buck with velvet antlers. He was beautiful.

Have any of you ever had a ground hog try to break into your houses?

The other evening, I heard the most awful sound at my back door and on the rear brick wall of my house. We looked out, and thee was a ground hog trying to break in. I banged on the window, and he fled. But 15 minutes later, he came back and started all over again.

I guess I really need to get a dog again. I had no such problem when we had Max, or Terra.

What do ground hogs eat? We need to bait a trap and then dispose of the little devils.

Ice.

Definitely Ice.... 3 cubes.

Over some Absolut.

Do not drive or operate heavy machinery while using this prescription.

The effects of this prescription may be magnified, by a really good album.

I know its still OTC, but...
