As I posted earlier, these guys are probably using the patches as a way to make fun of the very things about which you’ve commented.
Have you noted changes in the military over the last few years?
Of course there have been very drastic, damaging changes. That’s why I think these guys are using the My Little Pony logo. It’s a great way to use the absurd to demonstrate the absurd, and the ‘mos can’t protest because it looks like these guys are just being inclusive of alternative life styles.
LOL! Shows that these guys have a great sense of humor.
Right. This is nothing new. Each class comes up with their own patch. Usually it's something from popular culture. When I was at Vance in 1990, we had patches that said "Can't Touch This"...ala MC Hammer. Other classes had Bart Simpson, Snoopy and Calvin.
"Friday" shirts and patches are popular in the USAF and aid in camaraderie.
Kinda sets the Gaydar off!
LOL!
Yeah, but our mate Donald was no moosh. I’ve yet to meet a poofta that could match his temper or toughness. Donald was/is a true scrapper and could definitely chew iron nails and spit out tacks. No Nancyboy there!
During my days in the army (1964-1967) Batman was the thing all the guys flocked around the TV to watch.
I served in both the 5th Army Band at Ft Sheridan Il and the 74th Army band at Ft Ben Harrison IN (Uncle Bennies Rest Home).
Batman was very popular during my 74th Army band days and the band played the theme song from it quite often.
I even had a ‘Batman’ insignia on the back of my music lyre.
