RIDGEWOOD, N.J. (CBSNewYork) – There has been a strange sighting of a strange creature in a suburban New Jersey town – and pictures of it have residents asking “What the heck is that?”
CBS 2’s John Slattery was working the day watch out of Manhattan, when his boss gave him this juicy assignment.
He took a vehicle out of Midtown. The sighting happened on Friday. He and his cameraman headed for the leafy community of Ridgewood, which was apparently being terrorized by an odd creature that lurks in and out of storm drains.
Slattery obtained video of the creature from a resident, but, like CBS 2’s reporter, was mystified.
“I saw a strange animal in the front yard,” witness Rob Lyons said.
Lyons had the presence of mind to shoot a picture of the creature on his smartphone.
I’ve gotten those robo calls from a black female voice telling me it’s my last chance to take advantage of the stimulus package - been getting them for months.

Once these noble creatures thundered across the American landscape in mighty herds.
Today, they have been hunted to the brink of extinction. Sightings have been relegated to the stuff of urban legends.
mine is white female. Been happening for over a year.
I’ve also been getting those scam calls about the “free” medical emergency alarm - a folksy, white middle-aged voice in those calls. .
mine is a similar call. If I fall down all I have to do is press one.

True-he could have ended with that.We had one coming around.It was eating the dogfood next door so I saw it.This made national news.Strange animal sighted.Someone had taken a picture.
BTW, does anyone know when there will be a new season of South Park episodes? Or did I miss it...?
In my suburban area, there are still a few coyotes running around (and possums and raccoons). I’ve seen only one coyote, but if I saw something like what was seen in this story I’d probably call it a coyote because I’m not an expert on animals and it looks close enough to be one, or perhaps some kind of coyote/dog hybrid, if that is possible.
I wouldn’t hit that.
It looks like an Anthony Weiner Trouser Snake. Been a rash of sightings lately.

Season 17 will premier September 25, 2013 with ten episodes.
Previous seasons were bifurcated. The first half began in spring and the second half in fall. There was a long break between the end of the first half and the beginning of the second half. There were seven episodes in each half season for a total of fourteen episodes per season.
Season 17, and possibly each season thereafter, will consist of ten uninterrupted episodes.
Yep. Poor thing.
