She was 1973.

Hoping Karen Allen, who was 1978, is alright.

I remember a romantic comedy she did with George Segal.

He was giving to her a line about how he wanted to have a meaningful relationship instead of a simple one-night-stand.

She said to him, “Look, don’t give to me any of that bull about ‘meaningful relationship’. If you want to jump me then just say that you want to jump me.”

He said, “OK, I want to jump you.”

She replied, “Go jump yourself!” LOL

Didn’t she play the mistress that Daisy’s husband was screwing in the Redford/Farrow “Great Gatsby”? The one who was kille by in the traffic acciden and whose husband shot Gatsby

Myrtle Wilson was her name in the movie.

You would think that a little thing like that wouldn’t be scary. It’s been a lot of years since I saw it, but the African doll coming alive scared the tar out of me. I remember her trying to trap it in a suitcase and the knife/sword coming through the side of the case.

I’ll always remember being TERRIFIED of the Zuni Warrior Doll in Trilogy of Terror when I was a little kid. As an adult, I still find Trilogy’s third story quite scary (the first two are kinda silly). Really well done horror, and Black played her part quite well.

Her son, Hunter Carson, is a friend of mine. He’s an actor as well, and he and Karen starred together in the 1986 remake of Invaders From Mars.

She died of cancer of a body part I’ve never heard of, the Ampulla of Vater.

RIP

That was from “Trilogy Of Terror”...

Yeah, that little monster freaked me out too as a kid. Funny as hell, but scary at the same time. Especially at the end where she called her mother on the phone and grinned, while holding the butcher knife...

RIP... Prayers out to her family.

“...She always had that almost Raquel Welch look about her..”

That’s actually a very good description. She reminded me of Raquel a lot.

Very sad news...

Sad news...

P.O.E. posted a picture of her (at Post 3) from “Trilogy Of Terror” with the little african hunter doll that came to life and chased her around the apartment.

Instant memories... funny how a picture can do that.

I don’t recall seeing that.

It appears to be on you tube though.

It was trio of horror short stories, similar to the “Tales From The Crypt” stories.

She received this little African warrior statue that came to life when she removed the belly chain, which, of course, she was instructed not to do.

Through the course of it, she had phone calls from her overbearing mother, getting on her nerves.. the statue came to life and pursued her relentlessly through the apartment.

It was both comical and scary as hell at the same time (for a kid, anyway).

Not Oscar-winning material for sure, but it’s still an enjoyable watch.

Funny though... I don’t remember what the other two vignettes were about...only that one. Guess it had an impact on me.
