Here is my example with WFTD.
Joe Biden has risen up to say he's against the contumacious types of republicans, so could we please not elect any more of them.

Ironic that Joe Biden himself uses contumely in his false accusation. How contumacious of him.
The word in the “contumely” form appears in Hamlet’s famous “To be or not to be” soliloquy from Act 3 Scene 1.
Members of FRee Republic are recommending that students in monterey CA be deliberately contumacious over the new order that nobody may wear clothing with pictures of bears, replicas of the State flag, or the letters NorCal or SoCal on them. I’l be back with the link.
It is also in the lyrics to a very old standard:
Contumely my melancholy baby...
Cedarmont Kids?
A+++ great info! we have had the word contumely in class here before. Noteworthy because it’s a noun but the LY ending def makes you think adverb.
These guys are especially contumacious on a Monday morning.

unreal. A+++
Well, looks like the world’s liberal “philosophers” have crossed from not only openly advocating and promoting abortion before birth, to now declaring directly that even those who simply protest “abortion after birth” must be silenced.
Contumacious? Now the “professional ethics” journals who want infants to be killed are far past that little limit!
Old school. My kids are 24, 21, 19, and Wee Sing ruled in the car for years.
sickening. A+++
We have both... I have the tune in my head right now... thanks...
Could be a lot worse...
menah menah.
you’re evil.....
i’ve closed my eyes and put my fingers in my ears, you can’t get me ; )
Obama hates skies that are spacious
Amber waves make him feel contumacious
His only real game
Involves shifting the blame
In a manner that’s vile and mendacious
Yikes—that’s awful!
I was mortified when my wife got a baby shower invitation that carried the admonition: “Be a dear, wrap in clear.”
But this is a whole new level.
Were they worried someone was sneaking a bomb in?
No—they want to move the gifts along, assembly-line style, and opening up wrapping paper takes time. With plastic wrap, the gifts are immediately discernible. It is a wonderful time-saver, but it seems a bit tacky.
LOVE THAT!! A+++++
OMG, am sending that to xsteen. She’s attending her first friend’s wedding, a college roommate from UD, who is getting married in Oct. The ceremony in Dallas is civil, they are getting married in Rome in church on 12/21. Of course, no UD kids are going to have $ to pony up to attend the religious ceremony, AND who is going to want to spend that kind of $ to go that close to Christmas. Odd all the way around. Both bride and groom did go to UD and did the Rome semester the same time xsteen did, though they were not dating at that point.
Anyway, i did tell her about need to cover the cost of the meal x 2 since she’s taking her boyfriend. But the Dallas ceremony is most likely going to be tea and cookies, AND she’s paying to fly there and for a hotel, so we decided $100 was more than adequate to spend on the gift for that wedding.
Well, there are things people might think about and then there are things people are crass to actually say.
If getting married, you might wish that you receive lots of cash gifts to help defray the costs. But to actually ask for such upfront, or to be offended by non-cash gifts, or cash in insufficient amounts is just unbelieveably classless.
Your budget should not be relying on everyone paying their own freight.
A bit? I thought the idea was to enjoy opening up the presents, not to move it along as quickly as possible.

you chose your middle name as WFTD?
that is for dang sure. we had several people come totally empty handed to ours. we bitched between ourselves but that was that. In neither case was it lack of funds, it was just thoughtlessness.
A+++ he’s evil.
wow, i never heard of that, wrapping in clear? good grief. people in general appall me.
Yeah, if unwrapping my present to you is too much of a hassle, I can think of a way to free up your time.
I like this word. I see great potential for it.
No class at all. I had to click the links too and agree with the person who said you should not throw a party you cannot afford and expect your guests to pick up the tab. That’s common sense.
Wow, finally a word that describes several family members.....
A+++ thought Weiner had replaced Rick Rolling ; )
Did your kids start school today?
My daughter has 2 more weeks of freedom. She’d become a complete night owl and we’re going to have to shock her system soon.
We had a half day Friday and today is the first full day.
plus, i actually enjoy wrapping and making a gift look nice. what a nasty precedent that is. wealth redistribution with a bow on top.
hahahah!
there is a college orientation thing on Friday for xsbaby and then i think she starts next week. i am beyond apprehensive, but not remotely letting her know that.
Lol. Blame SG. She rhreatened me with rickrolling, so it had been on my mind.
A mindworm so to speak.
Did you listen to the Duck song...
Then he waddled away, waddle waddle.
That one sticks in your ear like peanut butter on the roof of your mouth.
no, specifically did NOT listen, as i don’t need any more earworms.
The emperor ordered a chopper
For the family dog to ride-
I wouldn’t see the sense there,
Even if I really tried
Most of us have a pet or two,
We care for them ourselves-
They aren’t just fancy toys
Kept with pet-sitter elves
Maybe I’m being contumacious
But can someone tell me why
He needs a pricey dog-ferry
To look like a “regular guy”?
That whole Obama dog business reminds me of stories my Brit neighbor tells about the wealthy and noble in England having kids and handing them off right after birth to nurses and nannies to live in a separate wing of the house, brought to the parents for photo ops only so they can pretend they are just like the little people...
You are a naughty tiger.
