‘Was There A Birth Certificate?’: Trump Battles ABC’s Jon Karl Over Obama’s, Ted Cruz’s Citizenship
MediaIte ^ | 08/12/2013 | Evan McMurry

Posted on 08/12/2013 9:02:24 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

Potential 2016 presidential contender Donald Trump spoke to ABC’s Jonathan Karl Sunday morning and reignited the birther issue that he helped spark back in 2011, questioning the legitimacy of Barack Obama’s birth certificate and wondering whether Ted Cruz, who was born in Canada, was eligible to president.

“Was there a birth certificate?” Trump asked. “You tell me. Some people say that was not his birth certificate. I’m saying I don’t know. Nobody knows. And you don’t know, either, Jonathan. You’re a smart guy, you don’t know, either.”

“I’m pretty convinced he was born in the United States,” Karl said.

“Ah! Pretty convinced,” Trump said, and rolled over Karl’s objections that he was 100% sure Obama was an American citizen. “Pretty sure is not acceptable.”

Trump made Obama’s birth certificate a major issue in his aborted 2012 run for the GOP nomination, ultimately leading to Obama releasing his longform birth certificate.

Karl asked Trump if the Canadian-born Cruz was eligible for the office. (Cruz’s mother is an American citizen.)

“If he was born in Canada, then perhaps not,” Trump said. “That will be ironed out. I don’t know the circumstances. If he says he was born in Canada, that’s his thing.”

Cruz should claim that he was born in Hawaii, and present a photoshopped birth certificate...just like Obama.

H should then challange people to proved that he wasn’t born in Hawaii.

Trump could have demolished pResident Soetoro after the release of the LFBC because it was immediately shown to be fraudulent

He could have harped on that 10 TIMES as much as before and that would have been the end of Obama...

But instead the TV network gave him a $34million dollar contract to do another year of shows (anyone remember that show anymore?) and he shut up...

...when it was already beginning to go downhill in the ratings,

All I know is I’m the same age as Obama, and my BC looks NOTHING like his. It looks exactly 51 years old, and unless B. Hussein had his locked in a vacuum sealed safe for the past 51 years, that is not an original BC.

Maybe Trump decided he didn’t want a car accident, a plane crash, a mugging that turned into a shooting...Maybe he decided he didn’t want to be “found” in bed with a Jamaican prostitute in some derelict NY hotel and not remember how he got there after passing out eating dinner in some exclusive restaurant....
Maybe he and Justice Roberts decided what was really best for their own health and welfare.

When asked if Cruz (born while his American citizen mother was in Canada) is eligible, Trump should simply say, "I'm a businessman. I know how to get things done. I'm not an historian.I'm not a legal expert. I just know how to get things done and I think I could get a lot done for this country as president."

Like a lot of other people, he let his animus toward Obama lead him into a birther trap that he now needs to escape. I hope he learns from that experience.

You are right. That was hush money. He chose that over investigating the birth discrepancies on a deeper level and making it a front page issue.

Yes there was, and it was seen by the people who documented his mother's and father's divorce papers. I believe that "indeterminate person" probably SAW the Obama Dunham Divorce Documents BEFORE Page 11 disappeared and viewed the Kenyan Birth Cerfiticate,
thereby telling Ed Hale
The Obama Dunham Divorce Documents are viewable at this location.
There's a great assumption of the time lime at at link.

Technically, Cruz is ineligible, but not because he was born in Canada.

His ineligibility is due to the fact that his father was not a US Citizen at the time of his birth (same as Marco Rubio). In fact, his father did not become a US citizen until 2005.

But, since being eligible no longer matters, he may as well run. He’d be a terrific candidate.

I should add, this is the reason that B. Hussein Obama is not eligible to be POTUS. NOT because he was born in Kenya, but because his father was not a US citizen.

Your supposition is likely correct, but complying with the blackmailer makes them a cowards and a traitors to their country. H should then challange people to proved that he wasn’t born in Hawaii.

He should intentionally have the exact same “mistakes” that are on Barry’s BC.

Then when they complain about it inthe press he can show Barry’s BC and say.... OK< are you saying the president is ineligible?

George Soros is a major investor in Trump Tower Chicago and Trump and Soros both recently donated money to the campaign fund of Kamala Harris, the left wing Democrat Attorney General of California.

Trump says “Let’s just see what happens over time.”

I read Trump as insinuating that he has reason to believe that the WH pdf will be exposed as a fake at some point in the future. This is almost a veiled threat by Trump, IMO.

At one point, IIRC, Trump did claim that his private investigators could not confirm the Kapiolani birth or the existence of a BC in Hawaii DOH, and that was totally independent from and prior to Arpaio’s investigation.

He knows the Congress will not do anything until either the GOP retakes the Senate or until after Obama leaves office.

“He knows the Congress will not do anything until either the GOP retakes the Senate or until after Obama leaves office.”

IMO, Trump may actually know information that could accelerate Barry’s exit from office just as the tapes did in Nixon and the stain on the blue dress resulted in Clinton’s impeachment (OK, at least the stain derailed Gore’s presidential run).

Bottom line is how incriminating the evidence is that Trump seems to have in his back pocket.

In the case of Nixon, his own party turned on him. In the case of Clinton, his party stood behind him (and some feckless GOP as well).

That's true, at least up until now.

But if he decides to claim that he is constitutionally eligible for the presidency (or vice presidency), he will be showing zero respect for the Constitution.
