The Governor is taking his time, considering the entirety of his legacy. Even for Gov. Jerry Brown, on his third term as California's Governor, signing Bill AB-1266 is a big step. Essentially, Bill 1266, brought to the floor by Sen. Mark Leno and Tom Amianno, means any California student can use any bathroom they wish, regardless of their 'birth gender' on record.
1266 also means sports team positions and locker rooms must be open to all genders . This bill does not require a student to get a doctors' note declaring the student is Transgender, and therefore, needing to be treated as a particular gender. Students of today can say, "We don't need no stinkin notes!". No, the student can simply declare on his or her own that as of today, I am male, female, transgender, asexual, poly-gendered, pan-gendered. Pronouns too, we will be forced to maintain the fiction of calling a he a she if that is the wish of the day.
I take nothing away from true Transgender people, who deserve their education and sport opportunities. The true transgender people can usually document their condition to those who must know. They should be given their own bathroom or try to exist in a world where 99% of people and not transgender. They should not be mistreated. I'm not speaking of those people here. Most children have no conscious sexuality to speak of until there preteen years. Overloading them with sex discussion before they are ready is not going to really help. It will only serve to confuse many children and frustrate many family who want what any parent wants, for their child to be happy and respected.
If you think Obama Care is a train wreck coming down the tracks, you ain't seen nothing yet. So a 3rd grader can decide to 'change their gender' five times a week, nine months out of the school year. The school officials will be forced to go along with this charade and play let's pretend, under penalty of numerous lawsuits and withdrawl of school fundings. Parents how did we get to this "Alice in the Looking Glass" kind of moment. This is what happens when you elect people who feel long before they ever think, if, indeed they still allow themselves to independently think. You would think teachers have enough to do these days without becoming the Gender Patrol. Anybody give a thought to the three Rs? I guess not. Be brave, Gov. Brown, or we will have to wait for your successor to have enough courage to remove this terrific mistake.

The real reason Gavin Newsome didn’t run this time remains a mystery. A lot of Bay Area folks were shocked by it, not that we wanted him as Governor (Mr.-Whether you like it or not!!”), but everybody expected this as the next step. At least we still get to see his red-hot brunette ex-wife co-host The Five on Fox, as she crosses and uncrosses her legs.
Since Gov. Brown’s father (long deceased) was also a Ca. Gov. and his sister (name?) held some state office a few years ago, the Browns do have clout up here. Sometimes, what Jerry wants Jerry gets. I still wish we had elected the business woman who ran against him. The Low Info’s around here lapped up all the negative campaign propaganda like a cat with a deep saucer of milk. Sickening!
