New Senator Cruz is precocious
Conservative leanings ferocious
When contrasted with Teddy
The old guard’s unsteady
Left-leaning, corrupt and atrocious

Mr. B is going to come to my house tomorrow to go over the appliances with me online. I am relieved. He and his wife just 10 months ago replaced all of the appliances in his house. He said the quality these days is crap, and not to expect the new stuff to last as long as what we currently have. Our house is 14 yo and the only appliance we have replaced is the dishwasher, and the only one we have had serviced is the refrigerator, to replace the waterline in the icemaker i think once or twice. No problems with the oven or the cooktop. i called a few places to get quotes on cooktops and in the process learned that a 5 burner would necessitate some pop up vent situation that was going to cost the same as the dang cooktop itself! ain’t doing that! that guy told me that jennaire is the only one who makes a 5 burner with a built in vent, and gave me a quote on that, so i will check with Mr. B about that.
the other issue we have been having, and Mr. B is on the way to the house now to check it out with his electrician, is that we have recessed lighting in the kitchen and the lights burn out CONSTANTLY. we wonder if it’s something with the wiring. Same problem in the master bath. No other rooms appear to have that problem. It’s maddening, bc xshub has been buying those bulbs by the case and needs to switch out 1-2 at least every other week. can’t be right.

That doesn't sound like it is working correctly for sure! We have recessed lighting in the kitchen and it is a pretty high ceiling and I HATE to replace them - so sometimes I have to just deal with it if my husband is out of town!

Great that he is going to help you with appliances - and I agree that appliances are not what they used to be. My Mother went through several refrigerators while still in warranty - finally got one that worked!

Working on a couple invoices I’ve got to deliver later...

In this litigious society,
Just the same as any other
Children learn by imitating
Their father and their mother

In California there are kids
Claiming the opposite gender-
And lawyers for their family
Say everyone must surrender

To the precocious transvestites
And just ignore their gender
In the bathroom-parents will sue
Unless the outraged kids surrender...

It is a special kind of stupid to encourage a kid-a little kid-to “decide” they are the opposite gender of what their genitalia clearly shows-I suppose the parents let them decide they can have cake and ice cream for breakfast, too...

I have an electric Jennaire 5 burner cooktop ,and a regular overhead vent hood-5 burners are nice when there is lots of cooking on holidays here, but it is NOT worth the extra $$$ for the extra burner-I won’t buy one of those for the next house, unless I plan to open a catering service-I’ll settle for a 4 burner plain vanilla brand cooktop for less, and be twice as happy...

I’ve got to go deliver-and hopefully collect-on these invoices-back later...

You need 5 burners to make cereal for your guests? ;-)

We just completed the appliance cycle with the new fridge. Got it in 1997 when we got married. Replaced the washer/dryer and stove in the previous 2 years. About 15 years for each.

I don’t expect as much from the new ones.

see i do think the extra burner is worth the extra $. i had no idea that 5 burners were possible and when i started looking at them online i thought, oh wow, that would be handy to have. It happens often enough that i wish for another burner that it would be worth it to me.

The nursemaid Media must make the Precocious One appear (regardless of what may actually occur) Poised and Presidential -- copious recordings of his gaffes notwithstanding. They continue to promote the myth that none of his constant diversions (vacations, golf outings, perpetual campaign stops) deters him or occupies his time away from that "laser-like focus" on the problems at hand...

I just found a book outside of Sam’s Club. I looked at the pic on the cover and said...”gee, he looks familiar”. Sure enough, I graduated from high school with him. It’s his autobiography. Never knew he played baseball...after all, he had polio and grew up with leg braces. Never grew to full height, either. so far it is interesting. Still only on the first chapter.

If you used an electric stove and didn’t live so far away, I’d send you mine when I sell the house-I’m a very neat cook, so it still looks brand new. It was nice when the kids lived close and there was a lot of cooking done, but if I need more than 2 burners these days, it is rare.

I pre-ordered “Pagan Lord”, the new Bernard Cornwell novel about the times of Alfred the Great and his son Edward from Amazon UK-it will be sent in October.

The narrator is a cynical nobleman and war leader, who has a very British and wicked sense of humor, is a master battle strategist, and a squish at home with wife and kids. He was widowed in the last novel, and resisting the King’s attempts to award him with another suitable wife-it sounded like he wanted to let his 3 kids choose one instead.

I have thoroughly enjoyed all 6 of the previous novels in the series, because the character makes me laugh. Not much in the way of romance, the sex is graphic, lots of bloody battles, and political intrigues and murders-but the history is accurate, and the murders and intrigues are fun to try and solve. I’d recommend the books for a swashbuckling good read with medieval detective work...
