I only watched a few of the episodes. Was not my cup of tea. Still, she had success and a bright future as an actress, but threw it all away for her addictions...which took her life. Sad and pathetic. Lots more like her.

I agree, though seeing the teeth would seal the deal. Alcohol does kill early though, I have seen it in my work in the health field. You can die from acute pancreatitis.

I usually post with zero empathy, but will not do so this time.

This just increases my conundrum with drugs and drug law.

Apparently there are some people that cannot protect themselves from drugs, no matter what.

Unfortunately, neither can I, or anybody else protect them.

You are correct. We can pass a hundred more laws - and yet these individuals will still screw up their lives.

On the other hand.... When libertarians who advocate surrendering on the WOD also claim that - when drugs are legal - there won't be more drug users and more crime and all that.... They only look like the complete and utter idiots they are.

Pardon me, it was Forman’s slutty sister who died.

I have trouble with reality v. TV.

good thing Gilligan is coming back this Fall.

There was an actress who was just adorable in the 30's named Barbara Pepper. She went from bombshell to playing Doris Ziffel on "Green Acres" Time is just not kind to some people.

Addiction implies it was out of her control to put alcohol in her mouth. Do you really believe that?

People use alcohol as a crutch, as a numbing agent, as a feel good substance, as a way to not think about disturbing thoughts.

But addiction implies there is no choice.

I can only speculate — but many times alcohol addicts have underlying psychological issues for which they seek to self-medicate using booze.

didn’t any of her fellow cast members ever contact her or try to help her?

She was already checked into a rehab facility where she died.........

It's unfair to any friends, co-workers or family to imply that there is some way they could have intervened in someone's addiction. I'm sure there's a lot of "One Steppers" here that will tell you that there is nothing one can do for a substance abuser, drugs or alcohol, unless they want to do it themselves.

I suspect that her addiction involved more than just alcohol. Such a tragic and unnecessary death.......

I find it hard to believe that this is a real picture of her... why would she allow this pic to be taken? She didn’t realize how bad she looked?

I'm not discounting self medicating for issues, stress, pain, trauma, whatever. I get that. Believe me, I do.

I just can't accept that it's an addiction, which implies out of their control. That's all.
