Farmers to Face Fines or Prison Sentences for Selling Food Directly to Customers
Thomas Dishaw's Govt Slaves ^ | 8-13-2013 | David Gumoert

This would seem to embody the USDA’s advisory, “Know your farmer, know your food,” right? Not exactly. For the USDA and its sister food regulator, the FDA, there’s a problem: many of the farmers are distributing the food via private contracts like herd shares and leasing arrangements, which fall outside the regulatory system of state and local retail licenses and inspections that govern public food sales. In response, federal and state regulators are seeking legal sanctions against farmers in Maine, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and California, among others. These sanctions include injunctions, fines, and even prison sentences.

Ummm... we used to go in parts with neighbors on cattle either we or they raised. Also, we would buy our eggs from our neighbors, and so on. I hope this is sarcasm, but I would guess it is not. Bake sales were destroyed a decade ago when they started requiring the food be prepared in a commercial kitchen.

This would just be more Nazi government overreach that we have become used to. Us frogs seem to be about fully cooked, and ready to serve.

Garage sales are regulated (you can and cannot sell certain toys - regulations that some here agree with) why not then roadside stands?

There have been proposals to make SNAP/food stamps an option for buying at a farmer’s market. When that happens, the farmer’s market is now fair game for federal regulation.

The Feds tried to ram through their National Animal Identification System (NAIS I call it NASI) by trying to flim-flam the states into enacting it but only a few ultraliberal states fell in line so they’ve let it sit for awhile but it will be back as a dictate. I believe they also have a similar system in mind for crops too.

This is the so-called “Food Safety Act”, which I call the Monsanto Corporate Welfare Act. I made some inroads with some Minneapolis liberals when I explained to them that this bill will place their favorite organic farmers (which, by the way, are family owned small businesses) out of business via oppressive regulation. Got some of them thinking.

Sure here is the link: http://westernrifleshooters.wordpress.com/2013/08/13/from-over-the-transom-2/

This is the only place I have seen this mentioned, one of the links in the article goes to the EO. This really needs to get out more. As we used to say in the Marines “I think we are in deep Kim-chee”
