A sexually transmitted disease among dogs can also be transmitted to humans through licking, according to an expert in the field.
Kansas State University Veterinarian and Laboratory Director Bill Fortney said Canine Brucellosis, an STD spread among pets, can also be spread to their human owners.
Its considered a sexually transmitted disease, but unfortunately, it can also spread by licking, Fortney told KSNT-TV.

do muslims display the same type of sexual behavior with dogs, that they do with goats, sheep, camels and burrows?
Mark 16:18 KJV
They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Obamacare doesn;t figure in our Christian future, IMHO.
2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Only 2 rare cases in all of Colorado......so
Did they check San Francisco ?
Surely the story has more teeth than this
San Fransicko would be a real dog’s breakfast!
This is why more states should outlaw sex with animals
I don’t care! My fiancee and I both love our pups and the puppy kisses they give us. We have 4 dogs, 3 of which were special needs pups and I wouldn’t miss their affection for the world!
I said, “I love that effing dog”, not “I love effing that dog”, but everyone still looked at me funny.
There has to be a Michael Douglas joke in here somewhere
Ugh, and anyone that breeds their dog would first test their own dog and the stud/bitch they’re breeding to prior to the breeding. Brucelosis would mean a whole litter of dead puppies.
My second question is, "You all do know what that dog licks besides your face?"
Now Timmy ....I caught it from Lassie is no excuse.. ....
There’s a .......”you better pet him first” .....joke here someplace !!!
Q. What’s worse than a pit bull with AIDS?
A. The guy who gave it to him.
My personal experience was half were scared to death of them and the other half held them just above swine in esteem. To them dogs are filthy unclean animals or so it was explained to me.
My brother said that the Iraqis he met when he was over there for active duty hated dogs. They thought dogs were filthy, and the strays over there probably really are more dirty than what we are accustomed to. It was a cultural disconnect, definitely, when they saw Americans go out of their way to help dogs and do things like flying them back to America. It made them sick to see dogs being pampered when there were children in real need who could have used the attention and assistance.
Reminds me of the old joke...
Two gays are walking down the street. They see a dog licking himself (you can guess where)
One gay says to to other “Boy, I wish I could do that!”
The other gay replies “Go ahead, the dog looks friendly enough...
Because he can.
Oh good, you got the joke.
all my dogs (except one male years ago) were virgins, I had a talk with them about STD and they woofed “we don’t want to get that”.
Beware of the Sex Poodle.
Let’s hope not:
(Note the all-black female, “Sunny”, to go with the black and white Bo—methinks they’re both narcissists.)
Don’t screw the pooch.
Very true.. will agree with his assessment. Iraqis think of dogs like cockroaches :^(
And you can get ghonnorea from a tractor seat.
Don’t lick your dog’s genitals!
There you go, bring up algore, I haven't thought about him in ever so long............ :[
This is such an inflammatory article. Canine Brucellosis has been around forever. Yes, it is transmitted between dogs when they mate, but here again, the way this article is written is sensationalism.
Brucellosis (a different form from that which dogs carry) can also be transmitted to man by cattle.
Pardon the ping - I should have known you would be on this thread.
I wonder if B. canis is coming in because of all the rescues importing dogs from other countries?
Brucellosis, isn’t that a goat thing? Humans can catch it. Keep your goats clean, people. Wash after every use!
One could probably catch brucellosis by drinking goat milk, from the source.
