Doctors appt. today, got a few shots while waiting for the bus ride home. Most of these Roseate Spoonbills are young birds, the adults were at the other end of the pond where I couldn't go today.

Thanks for the beautiful pics of a beautiful bird. I haven't gone birding all summer because my go-to place was so decimated by Superstorm Sandy.
The trail was cut into by the ocean, leaving a 100' gap which allowed seawater to salt up the freshwater pond. That destroyed the flora and fauna of the pond. A person with a brain would fill the trail back in with sand and possibly reinforce it, restoring it to the way it was and functioned well for decades. A liberal would argue for the next 10 years about the "best" solution with the least ecological impact, taking into account the rising sea levels. And that's exactly what's happening. When I called the Powers That Be to inquire when they were going to restore this very important wildlife refuge, I was simply incredulous at the reply I got. A perfect "10" on the libtard scale.
