It's amazing how much atmospheric disturbance can be filtered out of modern terrestrial telescopes.

I wish them all the best on the glass cast. Those things don't always go as planned.

I was close to some astronomers at U of A back in the 70's. They have been doing this stuff for a long time and are world experts. I expect success. The facilities at Chile were being established when I was hanging around Stewart.

The adaptive optics are a great thing. Its so much easier and cheaper to send a guy with a ladder to fix them than launching him into space to do it.
