Ok, so the glitch is back. Seems to be hitting on weekends.
The weekends are when the NSA and CIA adjust their technical equipment to ensure they don't miss anything here on the FR.
(I wish I could add a "sarcasm" tag, but sadly since the foreign usurper has abrogated The Constitution with e blessings of congress and the courts, this is probably true.)
It’s completely ridiculous. A site like this could be hosted for much less money. Flame away all you want—it’s the truth, and you know it. Not diminishing Mr. Robinson’s great work, just saying that the hard-won donations could stretch much, much farther than they do.
Then lock it down to paying customers only, and you will be 100% assured of comments only coming from donors. You will also no longer have a vibrant online community, just a digital ghost town.

What, a text-only site has never been successfully hosted? Are you being serious, or did you forget the sarcasm tag?
I am talking about many attempts to “do it better” than Free Republic.
I am just talking about the technology, not the content. I don’t care if it’s about conservative issues or cat videos—it should NOT be having these problems.
And this is not a complaint just an observation.
Since yesterday, I can’t access “My Comments”. If I click it, it takes me to latest articles or latest posts. The only reason I can access it is because before that glitch happened, I had an open My Comments tab which I can refresh. If I closed that, there is no way I can access My Comments.
Anyone have any ideas about that? I can still open Mail.

The poster I referenced didn't even cite money problems. She decided to withhold donations because she got her feelings hurt during the primary season. (eyeroll) Didn't we all catch it from someone or other over our choices back then? We probably gave something back, too. But you put on your big girl panties and you get over it.
FR is my primary news source. I don't mind contributing so that it will BE here.
I have been a $/Day donor to Free Republic for over a decade.
There is no free lunch.
People, who use Free Republic without donating to it are Freeploaders. They are like the people, who want to go lunch or dinner with a group and never pay their share, if anything.
I've observed the same and have made a similar comment.

The good news is he finally got it fixed again. The bad news is he still hasn’t provided me with a plan for a permanent fix. Hoping he gets it together soon. It’s been breaking at least once a week for the last couple of months.
These problems happen all the time, and it is completely ridiculous. Mr. Robinson should really get this fixed, especially considering the huge donations he receives to keep it running. I don’t know why so many Freepers pretend it’s not a problem.
Just curious: what exactly is the nature of the problem?
It’s basically a configuration problem that can be solved with just a few hours work and or possibly just a little more hardware. Nothing very expensive. He knows exactly where the problem is and has a workaround that he executes whenever it happens. Unfortunately it’s beyond my limited tech abilities personally or it would already be fixed. He just needs to knuckle down and get it done.
