I’d like to hear about the chili.
ok here is my ground turkey chili recipe, but this is just between me and you, ok?
While this is cooking (completly!, not just browned, like ground beef) do the following:
Toss two big cans of whole tomatoes (Redpack brand is my favorite) in a large pot. crush them with a spatula.
Add two bottles of a good beer (Sam Adams makes the best chili, I think)
Add about a half cup of sugar, some chili powder (3 tablespoons- I like McCormick brand)
Add a few bay leafs
Put on medium-low to simmer
When the turkey is fully cooked and browned (adds flavor if you toast it good) add it to the pot. You may have to drain some liquid once or twice.
Chop one large vidalia or sweet onion and two green peppers and stir-fry them in the same sillet (it will absorb meat flavor) in more olive oil
Toss them into the pot when still just a bit raw and crunchy
Sometimes I cube a large zuchini and fast-stir-fry that until browned and add that (don’t overcook)
When it is boiling turn off the heat and toss in a can of either black beans, or white (Great Northern) beans (I personally do not like kidney beans)
You can eat immediately but the flavor is even better the next day (after the meat absorbes all the favors)
The sugar and beer are the main things you can adjust for flavor add more or less, as you like
I can make up a batch of this in 15 minutes if you chop the veggies while the meat is frying
Thank you.
When he toured in the 1980s (or maybe it was the 1990s), his concert program (a free magazine given out to all attendeesm they did it in both decades), SyruP Aul said that his favorite meal was STILL steak and eggs and that he’d sneak out now and then and get him one.
Who knows if Paulie’s still sneaking around now that his meat hating wife isn’t around to hen peck him. If Paul shacking up with Morrisseeyy these days or something??
