Former congressman Dennis Kucinich (D., Ohio) said today that striking Syria would turn the United States military into al-Qaedas air force.
Kucinich, who voted against the Iraq War and campaigned for the Democratic nomination for president in 2004 and 2008, lambasted the idea that Obama could act without congressional authorization, which he said would be a violation of the Constitution. He also warned that intervening in Syria would entangle the United States in another war in the Middle East and encourage Islamists who are fighting the forces of Syrian president Bashar Assad.
So what, were about to become al-Qaedas air force now? Kucinich sarcastically asked The Hill.
He went on to warn against attempting to minimize an intervention by terming it a targeted strike. Such a strike, he said, would still constitute an act of war.
Kucinich also blasted the Obama administration for rushing into what he said could become a third world war, and he cast doubt on reports by rebels of governmental forces using chemical weapons. He declared that the use of chemical weapons in Syria was a pretext.
The verdict is in before the facts have been gathered, Kucinich said. What does that tell you?
I agree with Dennis Kucinich! What is the world coming to?
Well, at least Dennis is consistent, and I agree with him on this.
Yep. Hope this gets widely viewed
He’s got it, can’t believe I am agreeing with Kucinich
I knew he would start a big war...just knew it...
when war comes, who's side are we on?
Youtube with Biden warning GW not to start military action against Iran without approval from Congress. If GW did, Biden promised to start impeachment proceedings.
One might ask Joe, Why not now Joe if your Obozoliar bombs Syria?
Well the muzzie president is their leader and he does command their air force, which used to belong to America, but now belongs to the muzzies and commies of the world. I would dearly love to know who Obama’s puppet master truly is and who runs him.
Me too. The weird little Bastid got one right.
And Venezuela no less. The US sticking its nose in this mess is pure insanity.
FUBO for making me agree with Dennis Kucinich.
No point taking this to congress. Bonehead and Reid will get Obama’s war all the pointed thumbs it needs. Amazing, as this would be a winning issue for Republicans.
Our own State Department wrote the new constitutions for both Iraq and Afghanistan, firmly establishing Islam as the state religion, and Sharia as the legal system.
In effect, our armed forces have been serving to make sure that Sharia and Islam are preserved in Iraq and Afghanistan, even though the troops themselves believe they are defending the USA.
There will soon come a day when a federal judge in the USA makes the decision, "Sharia is perfectly legitimate in U.S. courts---precedent?---Our own armed forces were defending Sharia in Iraq and Afghanistan."
Very scary when most rational Americans find themselves agreeing with Dennis Kucinich and the Russian government. The Russians are right. It would be a catastrophe. An American attack on Syria is an act of war. Syria would launch Iranian supplied missiles armed with gas at Israel. Israel will attack both Syria and Iran. Iran will attack with shore to ship missiles American ships operating in the narrow Persian Gulf. World War III would commence. It would be far better if Obama took a very long golf weekend.
Thanks River Hawk.
I hate to agree with Dennis the Menace but for the first time in his life he is correct.
When he’s right, he’s right.
Supposedly Obama does not want to take Assad out. And Eeeego-reilly believes him. Apparently he just wants to even the odds and hope the rebel take him out.
