Let's take a moment to think about that 'other George Zim', not the newly chubby White Hispanic Gunslinger of Florida, but a completely different persona, Mr. George Zimmer, former CEO of Men's Wearhouse. Mr. Zimmer, born in New York City Nov. 21, 1948 founded the company Men's Wearhouse, in 1973, using a cigar box as a cash register. The store was famous for selling men's dress wear at reasonably low to very low prices. After decades of expanding and developing his chain of stores, Mr. Zimmer was forced out of power by his board of directors on June 19 2013. Talk about a kick in the head, this is like being pursued and taken down by a well dressed Frankenstein of your own design.
Much remains unsaid as to exactly why the board wanted Mr. Zimmer out, but most say it is because he wished to explore the topic, examine the feasibility of taking his company into private domain. Just because it was George who began this corporation, doesn't mean all his decisions are going to be correct, but most the Bay Area public were surprised, even distressed to know that this figurehead who told them year after year, "You're gonna like the way you look" was to be removed from his spotlight advertisements.
I am certain that the man who had the drive to bring this business into reality is not done yet. No, this is not over. It would not surprise me to have George Zimmer end up creating a new business for the express purpose of competing directly with his former project of Men's Wearhouse. Mr. Zimmer may be in a position to re-purchase his company one day, at a profit.
I think Steve Jobs went through a similar period of rejection which eventually became a most lucrative opportunity for him and the then struggling company. Some businessmen are like top athletes or highly accomplished performers, they get used to winning, they don't accept losing very quickly or with much overall grace. We need those people, where 'having enough is not enough'. They may be called greedy capitalists nowadays by the jealous or the comfortably weak, but we used to call them "Go Getters", I still do.
Let that be a lesson to you. If a black thug is beating your head against the pavement, don't you dare defend yourself. Go ahead and let him kill you, so as not to be thought a racist, even if you yourself are black & Hispanic. Them's the new rules.
George Zimmer is a huge lefist that supports confiscatory tax rates and a 100% inheritance tax, FYI.
That I did’nt know
I also read that he backed Occupy Wall Street.
Yeah I think he told them “You’re going to like the way you loot.”
The boards statements sounded reasonable. George Z’s sounded emotional and unbalanced.
The world would be much better if we all thought alike. Who the heck cares what George Zimmer thinks or what he does with his money.
If he’d stick to messing with his own money, fine. But he wants the government to confiscate the wealth of others.
“”The boards statements sounded reasonable. George Zs sounded emotional and unbalanced.””
Heck - I don’t even see any statements by either the board or Zimmer...
"Hi there. Are you a large person? Pleasantly plump? A little on the hefty side, perhaps? Well, let's face it: Are you FAT? When you go jogging, do you leave pot-holes? When you make love, do you have to give directions? At the zoo, do the elephants throw YOU peanuts? Do you look at a menu and say 'OK'? Well, now, you can eat all you want, because at Thornton Melon's "Tall & Fat" stores, we've got you covered. That's right. Fine woolen, and woolen-blend suits and sport coats, in all the larger sizes - husky, stout, extra-stout, and the new Hindenburg line. And for you ladies we have caftans, muumuus, and our own exclusive A-frame in all colors and patterns. Yes, we have miles and miles of fabric. So take it from me, Thornton Melon, if you want to look thin, you hang out with fat people."
My guess is that Men’s Wearhouse will soon have to restate their earnings. If so, then getting rid of Zimmer was an essential first step in cleaning up the mess and limiting security fraud exposure.
Lotta good joke crackin. I can imagine the Teaberry Shuffle as background music.
He did and they vandalized his store anyway....LOL
it’s ok. he didn’t build that-his buddy told him so.
