(Vanity) BEST free antivirus/security program?

Look for one with the lowest memory footprint, as they call it. I’ve tried several, and Avast fits my bill.

AVG is pretty good. Ive heard good things about Avast as well.

I'll throw in another vote for AVG. That's what I use. I've been using it for a while on several computers, so inertia is keeping me from changing -- there would have to be a substantial advantage, and I don't see one.

Avast! Hands down.

You're better off simply purchasing it. Also download Malwarebytes too.

What do you use with Malwarebytes? Malwarebytes alone isn’t good enough, it’s good for supporting other antivirus software.

My guy told me that Avast actually reads a page before it loads. Others do not. I don’t know if that is accurate or not.
