I miss an America where people knew how to use apostrophes. And children knew how to read and write in cursive! And knew that 2 and 2 NEVER made 5, no matter how persuasive you could talk.
To: Arthur McGowan
BTW, the plural of apostrophe is apostrophes.

I miss America....
when families sat down to the evening ‘supper’ as a family unit..when Grace was said before we passed the dishes that a mother loving prepared...where kids cleaned their plates and took them to the sink...
oh those were the days my friend...

Absolutely, I love WEVL radio here in Memphis.
They have all types of music, southern gospel, old time country, rock. just anything that the host loves. I have heard some excellent music listening to that station.

"This grotesque nightmare that has replaced it, this sick Homo-America... awash in corrupt, one-party statism and endless cultural depravity, is something that makes me want to vomit." Leviticus 18:25
And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.

Sir, there are two passions which have a powerful influence on the affairs of men. These are ambition and avarice; the love of power, and the love of money. Separately each of these has great force in prompting men to action; but when united in view of the same object, they have in many minds the most violent effects. Place before the eyes of such men, a post of honour that shall be at the same time a place of profit, and they will move heaven and earth to obtain it. The vast number of such places it is that renders the British Government so tempestuous. The struggles for them are the true sources of all those factions which are perpetually dividing the Nation, distracting its Councils, hurrying sometimes into fruitless & mischievous wars, and often compelling a submission to dishonorable terms of peace. And of what kind are the men that will strive for this profitable pre- eminence, through all the bustle of cabal, the heat of contention, the infinite mutual abuse of parties, tearing to pieces the best of characters? It will not be the wise and moderate; the lovers of peace and good order, the men fittest for the trust. It will be the bold and the violent, the men of strong passions and indefatigable activity in their selfish pursuits. These will thrust themselves into your Government and be your rulers. -And these too will be mistaken in the expected happiness of their situation: For their vanquished competitors of the same spirit, and from the same motives will perpetually be endeavouring to distress their administration, thwart their measures, and render them odious to the people.
From Franklin's statement to the Constitutional Convention 2 June 1787.

I miss people bathing and dressing to fly on commercial flights.
I miss not seeing people’s underwear.
I miss work places that were places of work and not a second home.
I miss the government minding their own business.
I miss a country where if you wanted to work there was work for you.

Nevermind. The actress doesn’t seem to be Ingrid Bergman.

I miss not having to close the garage door or lock the front door, unless you went out of town.
I miss people’s word being as good as a signature, and business being done with a handshake.
I miss the standard of decency that used to be upheld - that everyone knew what the rules were and that some things “just weren’t done.”
I miss nieghborhoods and parks being safe for children to play in.
I miss children being able to walk to school (back when schools allowed prayer and taught patriotism and weren’t socialist indoctrination camps).

Casablanca: The non-smoking version.
The two films, Now, Voyager and Casablanca did both feature the actor Paul Henreid, playing the part of Jeremiah Durrance in the former and of course, Victor Laszlo in the latter. Claude Raines was also in both films as well.

I also miss the good manners that people once had - where people acted like ladies and gentlemen and were polite and kind to one another.

I miss television shows that had loving mothers and fathers that were fonts of wisdom and not portrayed as silly fools.
I miss variety shows that everybody could watch and you didn’t have to send the kids to bed early to see.
I miss movies that did not insult my intelligence or had an agenda.
I miss making telephone calls to businesses that you did not have to ‘Press 1 for English.’
I miss eating restaurant food that did not taste like it was made in a factory in Mexico.
I miss having the TV news not be a propaganda arm of a political party.
I miss not worrying if my child was going to be killed at school by some monster with a chip on his shoulder.
I miss being able to talk freely about sports, religion, politics or the weather without fear of being labelled a ‘nut’.
I miss going to visit relatives in another state without worrying that the fuel cost would break the bank account.
I miss having enough money to send those relatives nice gifts for birthdays and holidays.
I miss not having to avert my eyes or shield my children’s eyes when a parade float came by that had a rainbow on it.
I miss America.........
