The Dems’ attitude towards those who oppose their policies can be summarized by the words of the Rev. Al-

“Resist, we mulct.”

the closing on xshub’s dad’s house was to be yesterday. The buyer at the auction began to demand $ to haul away items that had been left after the auction and refused to go to closing. xshub called the auctioneer who said, the contract of sale specified AS IS, tell the buyer close or MULT the $20k earnest $.

Happy Friday everyone - we’ve had some guests in our home for the past week or so and I’ve been busy entertaining, etc. I hope you all are attempting to at least enjoy the hypocrisy of the dems over Syria..... imagine a Republican President suggesting we retaliate and their uproar!

Isn’t it funny when folks demand something different than they agreed upon originally. Did he realize he was dealing with an attorney? lol

the granite is supposed to be going in today, hopefully they will be completely done by Tuesday. Here’s something i wanted to ask the assembled class. How deep are your kitchen cabinets? I noticed last weekend when we were starting to put some stuff away in the new cabinets, that they were shallower than what was taken out. There are a few bowls that i kept in cabinets above that will no longer fit because the door won’t close. At the end of the day, we are increasing the cabinet space by so much it won’t matter, but what it does mean is that i can’t put stuff away exactly where it was before bc things won’t fit the same way. I mentioned to the contractor and he said that 12” is standard and he had not noticed that what he had taken out was 18” [that strains credulity, but i do believe him]. The cabinets which were in there were what came from the builder, according to Mr B, anything deeper than 12” is custom. i have a hard time believing the builder provided custom cabinetry but maybe he did. The lower cabinets are obv 18” and i will just have to keep the bigger stuff in those. But it was disconcerting.

The buyer is a Bosnian immigrant, but he has a lawyer [xshub said he happens to know the lawyer and the guy is a dope, LOL], and he has been dealing with my FIL’s lawyer, since the estate is technically selling the house. you would think this would be commonsense, that AS IS means exactly that. At the end of the day, the guy asked for $500 for getting rid of stuff, and xshub forwarded that request to the auctioneer who was supposed to have kept up the house for the time since the sale until the closing and he did not, for example, keep the grass cut etc. xshub said he thought it was reasonable [the $500] but that the auctioneer was going to have to pick up that tab, as he had failed to keep the place up for that interim period.

Sounds like the auction people failed to do due their job. I can understand the buyer’s angst. Good luck with that.

Mine are less than 12. I keep my larger bowls in the lower cabinets, too. Although, I do not have extensive cabinetry.

I measured mine with a ruler....to the door opening it’s 12, but the door won’t completely close without narrowing the usable space to less than that.
