A Rhode Island man has filed a federal lawsuit against Pope Francis and others, claiming the frequent bell-ringing of the Catholic church across the street has disrupted his life so much, it helped precipitate the demise of his marriage. John Devaney, 64, of Narragansett, R.I., lives directly across from the picturesque St. Thomas More Catholic Church. The bells have been going off 700 times a week, very loud volume, and its been going on for too long, he told the Providence Journal in a videotaped interview. Im not getting any response back from the people that control the bell-ringing. First of all, the bells are amplified and theyre broadcast on loudspeakers, Devaney explained. We live in a historic neighborhood. I think we should get back to removing the amplifiers and the loudspeakers. And then I think they should bring the bells back to a reasonable number and a reasonable time.........

Some people should have a big ‘S’ stamped on their forehead (for STUPID) so you know to stay away from them.
“700 times a week?”
There’s only 168 hours in a week. Methinks he got his math wrong.
I hear Mohammed had people shout from minarets because he didn’t like bells.
If this problem started before Francis succeeded Benedict XVI, this guy is suing the wrong pope.
He’s got the wedding bell blus.
He’s 64?! Looks like 84. Cowboy hat in Rhode Island? One confused man.
As my dad used to say, "hell's bells!"
So these bells go off 4 times an hour for 24 hours 7 days a week?
Maybe he just has a ringing sound in his ears.
It is all Quasimodo’s fault
Perhaps they could move a mosque in next door and he could listen to the call to prayer all day long. He could complain about that and they could burn his house down with him in it.
He must be counting each individual peal or bong of the bells, rather than instances.
I told him a million times not to exaggerate but hey, some people never listen.
Moving is not an option?
Heaqr plugs and headphomes if you don’t want to move.
That hat does it for me.
Ear plugs and headphones, if you don’t want to move.
He probably has tinnitus and the bells follow him around.
OK, that I could buy.
