LANCASTER ( — Two brothers were charged Friday in connection with a car-to-car shooting in Palmdale that left a 7-year-old girl brain dead.

Jesus Alberto Peralta, 22, and 19-year-old Carlos Peralta, both of Palmdale, were scheduled to be arraigned by afternoon on one count each of willful, deliberate and premeditated murder and shooting at an occupied car.

The men also face three counts of attempted willful, deliberate and premeditated murder, according to prosecutors.

On Thursday, the Peralta brothers and third man, identified as 20-year-old Eduardo Diaz of Little Rock, were arrested in connection with the car-to-car shooting that injured Desirae Macias about 12:45 a.m. on Sept. 4 in the 5100 block of Essex Drive.

Macias was airlifted to Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles and placed on life support. Despite reports that she died Thursday night, her family confirmed to CBS2 that she remains hospitalized.

KNX 1070′s Claudia Peschiutta reports the shooting reportedly followed an altercation between the three suspects and a family of six at a Mobil gas station.

Macias’ mother’s boyfriend reportedly got into an argument with the suspects, who allegedly chased the family into a residential area and began shooting at their vehicle.

After evading the suspects, Macias’ mother discovered her daughter was wounded and called for help.

Prosecutors declined to file charges against Diaz due to insufficient evidence, according to City News Service.

Each suspect was being held on $8 million bail. The brothers each face a maximum prison term of 185 years to life, if convicted.

Take away the “macho” and give them both some “electricity”, that should solve the problem.

Little, Cholo Mexican gangbangers are everywhere here in SOCal. When I first heard about this event I just knew it was perpetrated by Cholo gangsters even though there were no races mentioned. This is just how they roll, I guess.

Our jails and prisons are chock full of them. They're a menace to everyone in society and there doesn't seem to be anything law enforcement will do to prevent these animals from roaming the streets until they commit heinous violence that's beyond the pale like in this case.

Something needs to be done about them because we're dying out here and we shouldn't be afraid to live in our communities because of these scumbag monsters. They definitely don't' want to coexist with us. They just want to brutalize and bully everyone into submission. I don't think anything short of vigilantism could ever get rid of them. If this makes me sound like a racist towards them, well, so what? I've lived around this long enough to call it what it is, REALISM.

I’m sure their mothers (probably have no fathers) will say that really “they’re good boys.”
