A recently closed restaurant in Texas is claiming that it had nothing to do with an angrily worded sign in which area residents are not portrayed flatteringly. But some people believe the eatery is only distancing itself from the sign because an attempt at humor backfired.

On the other hand, with attitudes like that the food must really have sucked. Thus, they aren't Italian and must be from New Jersey, blue-blood transplants trying to change Texas' colors and blaming everyone else for their own failures (no offense to New Jersey conservative-Italians).

A friend of mine says that a steakhouse that has the word "Texas" in its name or a variant, such as the Texaz Grill in Phoenix, usually serves good steaks. By that criterion, the Big Texan should be a good place to have dinner.
I just forwarded this to my son. He lives in Dallas but is working in Amarillo. He would agree with you, there is good steak in Amarillo.
Folks, I live in rural Texas that is growing exponentially, I’ve seen numerous numerous food eating places go out of business. Hey, it’s a risk Some survive and others don’t that’s the risk you take.

This reminds me of Bogey’s kine in “Casablanca”:

The owners must have mistaken Amarillo, for some bastion of liberalism.
