First thing I thought of...Amy.
Has he met that Amy’s Bakery lady? They’d get along swell
What about me?
How difficult is it to whip up some pasta?
***The angry tone, the implication that Amarillo residents dont like good food, ****
Why eat pasta when you can have STEAK! at the BIG TEXAN! or several other places.

“I came here for the water.”
“Rick, you are in the desert! There is no water.”
“Oh, I guess I was misinformed.”
The owners must have mistaken Amarillo, for some bastion of liberalism.
“being nice is never wrong”
Disagree strenuously.
I wouldn’t bet against it. One thing’s for sure: they were democrats. With a mouth that dirty, it had to be.
