Stunning decision. I’m not saying it is wrong. Just that nothing like this has happened before. You can wreck a guy intentionally and get no penalty, but spin yourself out and it’s a 50 point penalty.

The radio talk was very compelling.

NASCAR is a legitimate sport, just like pro rasslin. Remember the driver that got in trouble a few years ago when he pointed out that things weren’t as they appeared? He apologized for making statements detrimental to racing, but never recanted his comments, as I recall.

Stupid thing about the chase. In the old format Newman would have gained a few less points and continued battling for the championship. Anything could have happened in 10 laps that prevented Newman making the chase, but this spin very potentially cost him a spot in the top twelve. Really sad for all involved.

Bowyer and Vickers did more than that. They took a dive in the last few laps to make sure Logano got in the top 10. Logano has two wins so if he had remained in the wildcard position he would have trumped Truex’s one win. The decision is a good one and sends a message to teams not to lay down in order to change a race outcome.

NASCAR hasn't done the right thing ('cept for finally getting rid of carburetors) since most domestic cars went away from V-8 RWD configurations.

NASCAR should be called FUNNYCAR.

The spin cost Newman more than a few points, it probably cost him the win if no other cautions came out. He was dominating the last few laps. The real loser in this is Truex. He didnt know any of this was going on, he was just doing what he could to get a good finish and make the chase.

The biggest problem I had with Bowyers' spin-out is from a safety perspective. He may THINK that he's such a master driver that he could put the car into a controlled spin, but he can't be sure.

Earnhardt, Jr. said he was behind him when it happened, and he's glad that he didn't hit him. All it might have taken is an inattentive driver at that moment to slam into Bowyer, for serious damage to result.

Anything to get Gordon the chase. NASCAR is losing face with this crap. Johnson and Gordon taken care of by the elitist of the system.

Danica Patrick admitted to trying to make people crash about a year ago and nothing ever happened to her. Officially.

Wasn’t that how Dale Sr. got to be so big? I wasn’t watching NASCAR much back then but didn’t they call him the Intimidator?

He wrecked other drivers, not himself.
