The trees are Redwoods in the northwestern corner of California. This property has been logged at least 3 times in the last 150 years and these are the suckers that come up from the stump. They are referred to as second growth Redwood...

There's a Benderville, WI, small town, north of Green Bay, right on Lake Superior, I think.

I'll guess you don't wander around your back yard at night admiring the stars!

Speaking of bears.....

I live just east of Seattle.

One of our City Council members owns a weekend home in the nearby Cascades.

This same time last year he took his dog out at bedtime and was attacked by a female bear.

Horrible wounds - the bear literally tried to chew his head right off his neck.

He still looks like a zombie after much plastic surgery.

The attack completely changed his personality, too.

Pre-attack, he was a relentless Conservative.

Now he's buckling under to the Progressives on our 50-50 City Council.
