Syria: So urgent, BO has to use prime time; not urgent enough for Congress to vote
9/11/13

I haven't heard anyone speak to this aspect of the Clown's shuck and jive routine on Syria.

He MUST speak to the nation, but he DEMANDS that Congress NOT VOTE on whether they agree with him.....

TOPICS: Military/Veterans
KEYWORDS: cult; hypocrite; twoface; wastedtime
Anyone else see a few disconnect here?

Simple. He knows what the vote would turn out to.
He cannot, must not, be subjected to derision.

Cool...nice to know SOMEONE else thought of it....

I just constantly imagine how the moron media would be reacting if all these missteps were happening to Bush.

For that matter, I also remember Nancy Pelosi coming out EVERY DAY to tell the cameras how terrible Bush was....the GOP is terrified to do that.

How’d you feel being a combat soldier in Afghanistan about now?
Neglected, Unappreciated, used by this Marxist punk for what ends?

OBAMA: ‘‘We know the Assad regime was responsible. ... The facts cannot be denied.’’

THE FACTS: The Obama administration has not laid out any proof Assad was behind the attack.

OBAMA: ‘‘So even though I possess the authority to order military strikes, I believed it was right in the absence of a direct or imminent threat to our security to take this debate to Congress.’’

THE FACTS: Obama’s statement that he has the authority to launch military action is par for the course for presidents, and historically disputed by Congress. The law gives the president the power to act without congressional approval in cases of national emergency for up to 60 days. In such a case, the president must consult with Congress. And if the deadline passes without congressional authorization, the president has 30 additional days to remove troops.

But what constitutes a national emergency and what consultation means remain subjects of continued disputes.

Only Odumbell could use PRIME TIME to declare himself a stupidass

He is too dumb to know when to declare victory and shut up

When Russia stepped in and said they would remove chemical weapons from syria nobama should have said “OK then” and shut the hell up.

But his goal is to install the Muslims Brotherhood, so he is still working on a way to do that.

this petty fool managed to slam Pres Bush for “sidelining” the will of the people

I seem to remember a few UN resolutions and Congressional votes authorizing Bush’s action

barry’s action in libya- no Congressional vote or authorization (that worked out well.... not)

some national emergency speech, eh?

I didn’t watch him last night. Is that what he said, not to vote?

Very likely as I see it....the equation in Syria won’t change much from what it has been....but I can see the Islamic Rebels firing off more gas and killing more to blame Assad....and it will be just enough for Obama to strike....by then he’ll have the Congress support... since they’ve included in any passage that if Assad fails to deliver as promised Obama will have their authority to strike.

So if Congress agrees to the plan to disarm Syria...they will also be agreeing to giving BO the authority to bomb.

Caww astutely noted on another discussion thread this observation. The delay tactic, speechifying, etc. is to ultimately get the authority to strike. The reworking of the resolution will give him the ability to strike as we all know Syria will not be able to round up all the chemical weapons since some of them...an unknown amount of them...are in rebel hands. Syria/Russia won't be able to account for them all.

“he DEMANDS that Congress NOT VOTE”

The only thing that pisses me off here is that Bohener is taking orders from the Clown.

If he had put this to a vote already this argument would be over and we would be back talking about defunding obamacare.

I don’t think there is any way Congress will approve wording that would justify a strike for being in noncompliance of a chemical weapons agreement. The rebels are also going to soon be crushed with Russia arming the country to the hilt so there won’t be any doubt with another attack who was responsible.

Ultimately ...we will see. http://thehill.com/homenews/senate/321531-congress-slams-brakes-on-all-syria-legislation

There is lots of time now to word it just right and get consensus.
