WILMINGTON, Del. (CBS) — Neighbors near Kosciuszko Park in Wilmington expressed anger and outrage Friday, after learning the details of a brutal gang-rape that happened in the park Thursday.
Police say two women, ages 32 and 24, were reportedly attacked and sexually assaulted by a group of 10 to 12 black male juveniles in Kosciuszko Park at about 6:54 p.m. Thursday. According to police, the suspects, who range in age from 12 to 17-years-old, remain on the loose.
“This is a good neighborhood, and I lived around here for a year,” said Baseer Powell, who had come to walk through the park. “I’m surprised this happened, but its on these kids’ parents to raise them right.”

I notice those two annoying announcers for the Nationals keep saying things like “he is one RBI shy of 40” or “if the next 6 hitters get on and score, the next guy will be the tying run at the plate”...and one of my favorites - runner gets to 2nd base in TOP of 9th (or whatever) ‘the winning run is on 2nd’.
For every ‘decent’ think FP says, he has 200 inane, nonsensical babble pass through his lips...

My feeling about women being armed had evolved over the years.
I used to think all nice girls should carry a .38 Special revolver. Now I think all nice girls should carry a .45 ACP semi-auto.
How about a 12 gauge and a freplug man with H2H skills...he can flush em from the brush and she can pop em.
I suspect the vics were black. Mainly because whites are generally not naive enough to believe that “Law and Order”’s or “The Good Wife”’s lily white roster of violent criminals is an accurate representation of reality.
Women need to be taught at a young age that their self protection is up to them, so it is essential that they be armed in public, and just as important that if attacked, they do not brandish to “chase away”, but use their weapon against their attacker, to protect other women as well.
Such teaching should not be demanded by the law, but incorporated into female culture as a given. Taught by mothers and sisters, and supported by their peers and other women.

A gun would be optimal, but do not underestimate the utility of a knife or two in that situation. Not only could you likely nail more of them, without having to justify each slash or stab, but the wounds might be more dangerous to them, less easy to repair before they bleed out.
Group rushing somebody with a knife, who knows how to use it, doesn’t work.

Another one that grates me is NATS have a player Denard Span that has a current 26 game hitting streak.
Only problem is (AT least in my mind) he has NOT played in 26 straight games...granted if ‘they’ pointed that out every day I would also have my rankle raised.
The more appropriate statement would be: “He has hit safely in HIS last 26 games”... ‘they’ are starting to compare Span with the leaders and pretty soon they will start comparing him with JD (and Rose) and I have a feeling if he comes up short this year, ‘they’ will extend the streak into next season.
What ‘they’ are saying is if say a pitcher had 30 starts and had a hit in each of them ‘they’ would say he had hit in 30 straight games....TRUE enough but I doubt that JD or P Rose not only didn’t miss a game they probably didn’t miss an at bat in their respective streaks.
