My elder brother once had an MGA....powered by Buick engine. Built by a Buick engineer.

A Poor mans Shelby Cobra. I have yet to recover from those rides.

Not at all but the 318 V8 and the 225 slant 6 were pretty dang good.

Cummins diesel too.

Also on my list would be the GM Iron Duke and maybe the Ford small block V8 260 to 302.

Those Subarus are big with people swapping out the engine on VW Westfalias and their ilk for something with more oomph.

The resale value of Mercedes vehicles is not very high.

The Ford Fusion is easily the best car in its class, and Ford trucks are the best.

My next vehicle will be either a Ford Escape or Ford Edge.

I’ve had some good Fords. The best was my 1988 Crown Victoria. The 5.0L engine got 30 MPG and was still going strong at 257,000 miles when I sold it.

It was a sweet ride, like floating down the freeway on my living room sofa. I never had to slow down for speed humps—it barely noticed them. It was white and resembled a DPS vehicle so people slowed down when they saw me, LOL!

The all time greatest motor is the 60's era Pontiac Motor Division's (PMD) 6 cylinder Overhead Cam with a 4 barrel carburetor. Timing belt instead of chain, 10.5:1 compression and a real screamer for a 250ci engine.

...and the Overhead Cam lives on today in a big way!

I hear wonderful things about the ford fusion, including the price.

Living where Ive seen at least a dozen new Tesla S cars in the last few months...I must note that there are those places where Expense is upmost in some “consumers” minds and their agendas. If it doesnt cost and arm and a leg they refuse to consider buying ....

There are some very high-quality Porsche 356 replicas powered by turbocharged Subaru 2.5 Boxer engines. Here’s a guy in Knoxville, TN who makes one of the best, it’s converted to a mid-engine layout:

Datsun “L-series.” Damn near bullet-proof.

Except for that whole vapor-lock thing. You should never put the carbs directly over the exhaust manifold. BTW, Mercedes designed that engine and Nissan bought the rights.

I got rid of my ‘82 RX-7 because the seat wore out with 340,00 miles. I got rid of my 2007 RX-7 becuase the seat wore out, it got hit by a truck and I had problems with it’s starter or fuel injection (nobody told me why). It had 495,00 miles on it. God, what good, hot and dependable cars THOSE were. Bring back the RX-7!!

I put over 500K miles on my M-B 3.0 Turbo Diesel 300D and it was just getting broken in... Hated to let it go, but the rest of the car wasn’t quiet as durable. My 300 was even SilberBlau metallic as sould appear to be shown in the picture.

The Chevy...oh yeah! Had that and the smaller 200 IIRC with the cast together manifold and head in a 70 Nova. Two speed power slop too.

Tank! One of the BEST cars ever! Later I had Jags, Mercedes, ....JUNK!

Wish I could have that Nova back!
