Posted on 09/17/2013 6:37:43 PM PDT by nickcarraway
Jaden Smith (pictured), the son of actors Will and Jada, reportedly attacked the U.S. educational system in a Twitter rant relayed to his nearly 4.6 million followers about how society would be better off if everybody in the world dropped out of school. Now concerned parents are in an uproar because the pint-sized actor and his too cool for school tude is reportedly influencing his school-aged followers, according to US Magazine.
Jaden Smith @officialjaden If Everybody In The World Dropped Out Of School We Would Have A Much More Intelligent Society.
Jaden Smith @officialjaden If Newborn Babies Could Speak They Would Be The Most Intelligent Beings On Planet Earth.

Education Is Rebellion. Jaden Smith @officialjaden
School Is The Tool To Brainwash The Youth.
To which a few adults responded:

if you stayed in school, youd know when and when not to capitalise letters in English. laughharry@officialjaden calm down Jaden stop your mid teen crisis
But there were a number of kids who totally agreed with him:

What an inspiration
Jaden, who is reportedly home schooled, is the product of a bohemian upbringing as his mom and dad have been very open about their untraditional parenting philosophy. Will recently told Haute Living magazine, I think that, specifically in African-American households, the idea coming out of slavery, theres a concept of your children being property and that was a major part that Jada and I realized with our kids. We respect our children the way we would respect any other person. Things like cleaning up their room. You would never tell a full-grown adult to clean their room, so we dont tell our kids to clean their rooms.
There were also recent rumors that Jaden was seeking legal emancipation from his parents. Jadens 12-year-old sister, Willow, has also come under fire for alleged inappropriate lyrics for her racy current hit Summer
That’s just the advice all those little Trayvons and Rachels need.

this comment or reply...was great:
“calm down Jaden stop your mid teen crisis”
I agree that school brainwashes the youth. I agree with the boy and it sounds like I wouldn’t agree with you.
Quintessential spoiled brat.
Matt Damon got to him!
Well, he got that part right, although probably by accident, and for the wrong reasons.
Schools today, yes, but that doesn’t mean education itself is bad.
I wonder if he's ever been around an actual newborn baby.
They are no longer schools. Call them what they are - indoctrination centers.
Actually, he is right. The best education a fifteen year old could get is to leave school and support himself. A lifetime of education in one year.
I know I did it.
i agree with him... i think most kids would be better off not being in a government-run institution all day... year after year... as a homeschooler, i have said time and again, even if i were a physical invalid i would still homeschool my boys... if all i could do is lie in bed and read and discuss the classics with my sons, and learn the Puritan catechism, that’s what i would do... that would be the bulk of our school... i would throw in mathematics and call it an education... in my opinion, choosing public school/government school is like choosing to live in public housing...
He’s right. Home school your kids.
see post 15...
But he didn’t say schools he said education. You are educating your kids, just not in some lousy school. Obviously, you wouldn’t be doing that if you didn’t believe in education.
You people mocking him are sheep. This kid is absolutely right. And the line about the newborns is perfect!
Parents just don’t understand.
Not only can but have told an adult to clean their room. Have told adults to do a whole bunch of stuff.
Will Smith has been a director. That means that yes, he has told adults what to do.
So he is being dishonest. What he means is "we have maids to do that kind of stuff."
“And the line about the newborns is perfect!”
The line about newborns is straight Scientology stuff. They believe that the newborn baby is basically possessed by these wandering spirits they call Thetans, and that it is negative imprinting by parents and schools that suppress that Thetan, who otherwise would be operating at some higher level than ordinary adult humans. Most of the Scientology “process” is to supposedly remove that imprinting and get people back to “Operating Thetan” state of consciousness.
So Scientologist parents have “silent births”, where they don’t allow any noise or music during delivery, no crying, no talking even. Then they leave the baby pretty much alone without human contact for hours or days after birth, so as not to transfer their “negative engrams” to the Thetan.
“Will Smith has been a director. That means that yes, he has told adults what to do.”
Do we really know that? I mean, he hasn’t been a very good director, so maybe this could be why?
he also says to kids to make your own rules
isn’t that what gangs do?
More evidence we are doomed.
The day I heed the educational advice of a 15 year old will be a cold day in hell.
Post of the day!
This is the kid that had me hoping the Karate Kid would get his BUTT KICKED in this remake of the original movie.
I agree with the little nimrod.
Drop out and be homeschooled!
Thanks for putting that into context. I also happened to google “Will Smith Scientologist” and found another nugget. This article here says that kid is homeschooled. It should have said he is homeschooled now. The last three years he attended the New Village Leadership Academy, a school which was funded largely by his parents. That school closed earlier this summer because parents were complaining that their children were being indoctrinated into Scientology, and were withdrawing them. One of the teaching curricular methods used there was Study Technology, which was developed by L. Ron Hubbard, and which Hubbard described as “Scientology’s bridge to the world.” In addition to this being a vehicle for Scientology, it also apparently delivered dismal learning results.
So this kid’s comments, coming out of his own particular experience, might be valid — for him.
I concede the point.
Homeschooling is education.
Yeah, I think all of Hubbard’s hands-off approach parenting advice was designed to make it easier for him to indoctrinate the children even better than he did their parents. If they grow up in a distant household with little family bonding, then they will be all the more eager to please the surrogate family of the cult.
Here I was hoping that Will Smith had become a conservative, after his “education” during that interview in France when asked about high income taxes. Went something like:
I: So you agree that higher incomes should pay a higher rate?
I: So how much?
WS: “Well, um, I don’t know.”
I: Here in France the top incomes have a proposed 75% tax rate.
WS: “75%!! Damn.... Well...God Bless America.”
Instead, it sounds like his kid figures the schools are just pushing out that Creepy Ass Cracker jive. (Hmmm - that description DOES fit L. Ron Hubbard!).
He's been brainwashed by the Scientology cult. And now he's talking out of his ass.
This kid is absolutely right.
He's a spoiled self-absorbed retard.
And the line about the newborns is perfect!
Perfectly idiotic, yeah.
Education good public schools bad
what i read was, “drop out of school.” i am a believer in life-long learning... it is important to me that my boys be life-long learners... i believe in the importance of being sharp in practical matters (what many call street smarts), in being book smart (well-read in literature, history, mathematics, geometry, classical languages and music) and being spiritually wise (living out a growing Christian faith)... i think Jaden Smith is young and arrogant, but more right than wrong... and i think he gets it more than many conservative parents do...
“in a Twitter rant relayed to his nearly 4.6 million followers about how society would be better off if everybody in the world dropped out of school”
Society would be better off if 4.6 million people followed scientists, doctors, writers, priests, etc., instead of pseudo celebrities like the sons of film stars.
This ping list is for articles of interest to homeschoolers. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping List. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added or removed from either list, or both.

The kids will be better off and get a real education to boot.
JC:I wonder if he's ever been around an actual newborn baby.
Maybe, maybe not, but since it's likely he's been hanging around liberals, I can see where he'd be thinking that.
I don't? Mr. mm hears that pretty regularly.....
The rest of us... well, we get told what to do a lot.
