The Los Angeles Dodgers' celebratory dip in the Arizona Diamondbacks' pool after clinching the NL West on Thursday isn't just the talk of the baseball world. It's got even one of the country's most famous politicians fuming.

John McCain — the Arizona senator and 2008 presidential candidate — blasted the Dodgers on Friday via Twitter, saying much the same thing that many Diamondbacks fans were saying Thursday. Although, "spoiled brats" is particularly delicious....

Disclosure: I was a Dodger fan for more than 30 years until Arizona got a team. Here is my opinion.

*

Yeah, it was boorish, but maybe they got caught up in the moment. They’ve had a good year and it’s been a while for them.

*

“overpaid, immature, arrogant, spoiled brats” describes most professional athletes.

*

I love Chase Field but the swimming pool is a bit odd.

*

Go Dodgers!

Yikes, I need to amend #41. They are NOT overpaid. They are paid what they are worth in the marketplace.

I liked the name “The Bob” better. At least the pool doesn’t have sting rays like Tampa.

The jackasses in Arizona had the gall to ask the Dodgers not to celebrate at all on the field when they won. Is that stadium policy too?

If I were on the Dodgers, I would have done what they did...stick it right back in the Douchebacks faces!

Headline should be:

John McCain describes similarities between himself, many congress critters, and the Dodgers as overpaid, immature, arrogant, spoiled brats.

He should know-it takes one to know one.LOL

I liked the name “The Bob” better.

"Bob" was a great name.

I've been in a few stadiums, none of them the old historical ones. I've been to Dodger Stadium probably 50 times, Angel (or whatever they call it now) Stadium a dozen times, Jack Murphy stadium, and a few others, and I love Chase Field the best. It's air conditioned, the seats are close to the action, and the variety of food is amazing. It's like a mall food court with a field in the middle.

Nothing like watching a game in shaded, air conditioned comfort while eating a grilled Italian sausage sandwich and sipping on a vodka with a twist.

Wish he cared as much about the Republican Party as he does about the Diamondbacks.

I didn't read about that. Is that normal in these situations?

I remember when my Dodgers lost to the Yankees in '77 and '78, they whined and made excuses. I was embarrassed for them. When the Yankees lost to the Dodgers in '81, the Yankees were gracious towards the Dodgers, classy.

I hope the Diamondbacks acted with class. The pool thing is minor.

Sounds more like he's talking about the DC politicians that demanded not to be exempt from the harsh penalty of Obamacare.

Dear Diamondbacks,John McCain, Arizonans If you don't want any Dodgers to celebrate winning the division on your field, and in your pool, don't lose the division-clinching game in your house. And one more thing, don't blow the 9.5 game lead that you had over that same team earlier in the season.
Sincerely, Wagonboy

Idiot. I heard about the Dodgers having a dip in our pool, and I’m for it. Good on them, they clinched it fair and square.

McQueeg can kiss my ass.

Read his tweet again. He’s actually furious.

Good God. He really is crazy. It’s not a joke.

While we’re all tut-tutting about how the Navy Yard shooter got his clearance, we ought to figure out how this maniac nearly got to be POTUS.

How long until he kills a guy over a parking space? (Or, has it happened already and been hushed up?)
