God bless those volunteers.

It was more than just these 3 aircraft. Warrior Aviation is the civilian outfit that gave the flyby and one flight was the standard "Missing Man" 4 which looked to be straight wing fighters, maybe F-80s? Their web site has a spot for a $50 donation to cover the probable cost of $24k just in avgas and jet fuel.

The government did cooperate in giving the needed permissions; Eight civilian pilots honored the veterans, arranging permission from the Department of Homeland Security, Secret Service, and FAA with an aerial tribute above Washington.

Thanks for the ping. May they rest in peace. And blessings to the fly-over volunteers.
