Lost in the 1950s Part II [And some 1960s tossed in also]
Lost in the 1950s- The Cherry Bowl Drive In [And record covers from my childhood] ^

Did a little more looking and came up with more 1950s record albums [and some 1960s thrown in, too] that were either owned me, my family or ones that I saw at friends houses or just know of being around. Enjoy!

Re: Are you familiar with Bobby Scott? A fine crooner, wrote "A Taste of Honey". "He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother", recorded and produced a whole bunch of albums, completely forgotten today.

I had his "Star" album.... and his Nat King Cole tribute album.

You can hear him sing "Climb Ev'ry Mountain" at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJO0fNqMVvA

He died way too young at 53 in 1990.

Usually I buy Bourbon Festival tee shirts for select clients in other states. But I just didn’t see any that I thought had that zing this time.

Couple of clients said they liked ones that referenced Bardstown along with the festival. There weren’t really any like that this year.

Come Christmas I will have bourbon barrel cakes sent out to clients. Not cheap, but they are a big hit in other states and garner me a lot of good will. More impressive than the food gifts the other vendors send. And the customers usually remember “that vendor from Kentucky”.

That’s a real nice Mercedes 300 convertible in that picture. The girl’s not bad, either.

One of my much older cousins had that “Whipped Cream and other Delights” album and was considered to be scandalous. It’s looking pretty tame to me now.

I got a Four Roses stainless steel coffee mug in the shape of a barrel for work. It’s one of those “thermos style” with the hollow air gap. It really worked and got a lot of compliments on it. And it cost just a little more than a couple of cheep shots.

I wanted to try some Angel’s Envy, but they didn’t have any.

Wow, you're nearly famous! Like poor Cliff - 300 mill sold worldwide and unknown in the USA.

It’s looking pretty tame... to me now.

Well, kiddo, I got a can of whipped cream in the fridge... so come over here and we'll see how tame it is nowadays--

If there is going to be whipped cream... will there be doughnuts?

How in the hell, big, did you make... a threesome out of this?

If you have both whipped cream and doughnuts... it is technically a foursome--

Charlie, why don't we... have whipped cream and doughnuts?

I think we picked the wrong night... to try out whipped cream and other delights--

What memories! My brother, RIP, and I could sound just like the Everly Brothers.

I never missed Ozzie and Harriet. We didn’t have a TV but I’d go to my friends and watch it every week. Ricky Nelson never got the accolades he deserved. Neither did the DC5.

Thanks for posting this.
