Jim Robinson is in need of FReeper Prayers [Jim's update in reply 522]
His major surgery in in a couple of hours. What about if we get a big jump on the fund raising right now, so when he is able to check back in, he has something to smile about - that being a big chunk of the goal met?
I find it unnecessary to justify the need. You may or may not agree. Won't argue or respond to flamers. (They will maybe take their shots.)

I pay monthly, but I told Jim I would send an extra $25 so someone could get him food from Olive Garden when he gets home. I can do that tomorrow.
Is someone going to tell us when he is out of surgery and awake? If someone would do that, he/she could use this thread to report it. I really want to know when it’s over and he is awake, I know I will stay anxious until that notice.

The post about the delay was made by Jim but that doesn’t mean he’s on here reading everything. Yes, we need a bunch of money to show up tomorrow morning and more really fast.
We don’t want him to have to watch a donation thread creep along and concern himself with that.
We do accomplish good things, we are a force to be reckoned with, in large part thanks to Jim Robinson!

I have almost no access to the post office or anything else, 99% of all I have to handle is done online.
I do most shopping online, have a list of businesses who have proved they will do right by me and it works.
I know it’s easier. Old habits are hard to break!

I used to harp on that. Even coined the term “FReeploaders.” Jim asked me not to use it, and I have respected that. But, it’s still a good descriptive term.

I have never inquired on such, but my impression that Jim keeps that type of info to himself. It's never been his style to whine.
Actually we don’t know what percentage gives. The team only knows that some do not. And sometimes they brag about it.

And add it l up. And compare to registered posters
And it sure looks like...to me....that maybe one in ten donates...if that

I’m sure there are some slackers as they’ve posted as much. But there are also those who just can’t give. I remember when I first started helping the FReepathon, a lady had lost her house, her Hubby was out of work and they were living with relatives. She sent $3. It was all they had. There are other FReepers in the same boat.
Last table I saw from August this year showed 2500 individual donors

You have to take into consideration that we have retirees on FR. There are some young whippersnappers but a lot of us are retired and it’s not working out very well.
LOL. I couldn't venture a guess!
I know that our Monthly Donor Lists are way out of date and that several (hundreds) of FReepers donate anonymously (by state) and that only a scant number of New Monthly Donors ask to be listed, so I reckon it all comes out in the wash.
It's really a shame that our FReepathons are taking 2 months to complete, but I primarily lay the blame on that to the Marxist's unconscionable economy.
I do hope and pray that this time will be different. Our good Lord knows and we all know that Jim will need and rightly deserves, time to recover once his surgery is successful.
It's not easy to lose both legs. God bless him.
P. S. There will always be those who just don't want to donate. Thankfully, I think they're the minority, but then again, I really don't know.
