Princeton officials are considering whether to use licensed hunters and trappers to reduce the growing population of coyotes and foxes in the Ivy league town.
The number of complaints has been on the rise.
Animal control officer Mark Johnson tells The Times of Trenton people have been chased and a dog and a couple of cats were killed by coyotes.
Johnson says sharpshooters would likely be sent to certain wooded areas and fields to shoot and kill the coyotes.
We would not like to kill everything, but we definitely want to lessen the population, Johnson told the paper.
Princeton uses a similar method to control the deer population.
The Animal Control Advisory Committee plans to meet Thursday in hopes of making a recommendation to the town council.
I predict the local libtards will be more open to the idea the first time a coyote mauls a child or chows down on somebody’s house cat or toy poodle.
We gotz ‘em here in Ohio. Sagamore Hills and Northfield Center, adjacent to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
Couldn’t they just use a Predator drone instead?
I mean, really.. Think about shutdowns? Lolol
We gots to obliterate some of God’s creations to saves others, yaknow.. Don’t hurt to be efficient doing it, yaknow.
Even Obamacare knows that. Lol:-)
Coyotes are cowardly, despicable beasts. They are in about as much danger of extinction as cockroaches.
Put in some wolves. I’m sure they’ll take care of the coyotes.

Not here in New England, they're not.
There’s a very good reason that our New England ancestors hunted coyotes . . . and wolves, for that matter, to near extinction.
Don’t be too sure:
Description
Eastern coyotes typically weigh 30-50 pounds and are 48-60 inches long, approximately twice the size of their close relative, the western coyote. Eastern coyotes have long legs, thick fur, a pointy snout, a drooping bushy black-tipped tail and range in color from a silvery gray to a grizzled, brownish red. The average life span of a wild coyote is four years. Though coyotes are often mistaken for a domestic dog hybrid, recent genetic research has attributed the eastern coyote’s larger size and unique behavioral characteristics to interbreeding with Canadian gray wolves. Unlike the wolf or domestic dog, coyotes run with their tail pointing down.

So are progressives, but we don't get to shoot THEM!
Bring back COMPOUND 1980!
They’re dangerous, no doubt about it. There’s a large den of them about 1/8 of a mile from our property.
Going to pop one with the 410/5-pellet load.
IOW, eastern coyotes make better ruffs and coats than their western counterparts.
The hogs are already in Geauga County!
A decend game call ... and a MOE AR15 ... enough said.
Not convinced of that....living here in OK. They serve a purpose...on the prairie.
That said....they are thick around here...and need thinned out. I do my part.
Here in Pennsylvania, they've grown lazy by helping themselves to people's livestock and house pets. Even though wild game is plentiful, it takes a lot more work to get. IOW, they are more like liberals than their Oklahoma counterparts.
Absolutely. We had a pair run through our back yard a few years ago. The male looked to be as much as 60 lbs, with a very thick coat. The western coyotes that I’ve seen were much, much smaller and thinner.
