Every day as she sat down for dinner with her husband, Dawn Chadwick would pick at the food on her plate, eating only a fraction of it.

Then, as Chris waved goodbye and headed out to work, she would systematically empty the fridge and raid the cupboards, eating as much as she could before he got home.

“Before I’d think nothing of eating a whole cooked chicken with a loaf of bread smothered in butter in one sitting.

Well, if you love pumpkin, have at it. But the chicken and the butter weren't the problem. It was all the bread.

speaking of pumpkin, where can I buy fresh canned pumpkin (not to make pie)? It’s supposed to be great for dogs if you want them to lose a little weight and they love it. I found it on Amazon but it is rather expensive.

I buy pumpkin in the baking section of the grocery store. I get plain pumpkin, not pie spiced. Most grocery stores offer the plain and spiced so it’s a matter of reading the labels. I have a dog with a sensitive GI tract and it works wonders for diarrhea and regularity. I keep an eye out for when it’s on sale, like after a holiday. You can also just cook pumpkin in season and feed it to your dog. My dogs have loved it.

I just cut the plate size down, fools the eyes and stomach.

Actually a type 2 diabetic diet will help you shed pounds and lower your cholesterol too. And you feel better.

How the heck can some women do that? And such women.

I know wonderful women who would love to have a husband and yet these types go through man after man.

How the heck does that happen?

I lost 20 lbs by switching from a dinner plate to a saucer and eating smaller meals throughout the day.

Both Aldi and Target sell a good store brand canned pumpkin. Aldi is cheaper, but only sells it in the fall, so you need to stock up.
