They are going to spend more keeping things closed than it cost to keep them open.

This is going to stop cartels from growing in our national forests, right?

Just in time for first rifle season Elk in Colorado. If they try to close access to hunters on Forest Service roads it could get ugly in the west. I know a mny hunters and not one has an Obama bumper sticker. I imagine the state biologists will warn of huge winter starvation of Elk and mule deer if the herds are not thinned out by hunters. But if the Won thinks he can close the oceans, he might just try to close the forests. There is a big difference though, hunters carry guns not fishing rods.

Congress has not provided appropriations for fiscal year 2014. Pursuant to applicable legal requirements in the Antideficiency Act and Attorney General opinions addressing agency operations in the absence of appropriations, the Forest Service is unable to administer federally-owned recreation facilities. Consequently these facilities will be shut down and posted accordingly with signs provided, with gates locked where they exist, restrooms locked, and water systems shut down. Visitors in occupied sites would be given 48 hours to vacate, with the area shut down as the last visitor leaves, not to exceed 48 hours.

They dont give a rats ass. You and I are the ones paying for this.

The USFS used to be self funding until Ol Herbert Walker allowed the eco freaks to get into the agency fully. Before then, only the parks division used to be effected unless the districts funded it out of their own pockets.

No, I work for the local property owners’ association that runs the parks on our area of the lake. It is all privately funded with owners’ dues.
