It may seem counterintuitive that a TV show about a meth cook could have a conservative theme, much less a Christian one, but that's because people think Christian movies are supposed to have camels -- or a "Little House on the Prairie" cast. READ THE BIBLE! It's chockablock with gore, incest, jealousy, murder, love and hate.
Because the Bible tells the truth, the lessons are eternal -- which also marks the difference between great literature and passing amusements. Recall that even Jesus usually made his points with stories.
The sweet, soulful druggie on "Breaking Bad," Jesse Pinkman, illustrates -- heartbreakingly -- the monumental importance of the cross.

Actually, it is about ONE man, who decides to use his expertise in chemistry, to make enough money so that his family will be taken care of after he dies from the cancer that he has. THEN, it is about his journey and "unexpected consequences" which, in his hubris, he did not think he would have. He was too smart to have any bad effects. He was wrong. It was a very complex show, with a lot of layers going on. I understand if you don't think it would be your cup of tea; but, it was well made and it was a cautionary tale.
Fascinating analysis of perhaps the best written show on the tube in 20 years.
While we understand her comments, most of the credit goes to Gilligan and his writers for — perhaps inadvertently — drawing these characters from a Biblical perspective. I miss it already.
What I was waiting for and never heard Walt say was "I'm sorry". Not to his wife, not to Jesse, not to his son or Hank's wife. Not to anyone. It too was unsettling; a thing that was desperately needed but left undone. I was in keeping with his character, and it tied a bright red bow on his pride driven destruction.
I am an former high school chemistry teacher that had hit a rough spell in my life regarding the health of a family member. When BrBa first came out, it hit so close to home that I could not watch it at first. After seeing the first two episodes I thought, “I could easily be Walt.” I finally watched the whole series on Netflix this past summer and then the final season.
To me the series was a personal warning on the choices I make in life and the effects they have on others. I understand some people do not like tragedies. I usually don’t either. However, this one hit so close to home that it did effect me in a positive way.

It’s not about people making meth. It’s about a guy making a very bad decision and all of its repercussions.
MY wife and I heard what a terrific show it was, so a couple weekends ago we recorded all the episodes.
Started watching. I thought the first year was good as a fumbling bumbling Walt and Jesse learn the ins and outs of cooking meth.
We are further into the story now and Walt is becoming a mean criminal.
I’m losing interest. It’s not entertaining anymore.

It was a TV show, and it’s over. Ann should have better things to write about, and why would you wish some actor to “break down”?

I wish you would’ve answered my question, though. I’ve been faced with situations in which my choosing to act or not act resulted in people living or dying. In every case I made the right decision (all lived), but once or twice I had to think hard about it. Fortunately, my conscience won. I’m curious to know if many others have found themselves in similar predicaments.
So write and tell her, not me.

She was black mailing him to get him to give Jesse's money to him. Walt may have imagined he was "looking out" for Jesse by withholding the money, but I suspect that was mostly a rationalization for Walt to do what he wanted.
Jane was a threat to expose Walt and also would have caused the departure of Jesse. It was Walt who caused her to roll to her back. And while unintended, it was still him that caused her to choke.
The illegal activity that Walt was engaged in was his own doing. I can't see any justification for him allowing her to die. Reasons? Plenty, but your question was about right and wrong.
IMO, failure to act when one could save a life is wrong. Failure to act when one contributed to the life threatening situation is worse. Failure to act when one contributed to the life threatening situation because the death will benefit you is particularly evil.

No, it's about one man who is a sociopath, and has decided, because he has cancer, that he will indulge in his lowest, most satanic desires because he is going to die. And to do that, he will lie to his audience about what he is doing all the way to the last scene of the last episode, in which he will reveal to all of the self-indulgent viewers that the only reason he did what he did was because he liked it.
And then, after he is dead, he will laugh at all of the viewers from his place in hell as they refuse to admit to themselves that he punked them all by getting them to believe his lie - and punked them again because it's such an obvious lie that they should have known it was a lie from the beginning - and punked them yet a third time because, in fact, they knew it was a lie all the time, but secretly wanted to indulge in their own sociopathic fantasies.
I think there are many on FR that wonder this same thing. When I see a thread about a show I don't care about and don't watch, I pass it by. I can never understand why people feel the need to come on a thread and p**s on everybody while touting their own superiority.
Be strong, just skip past the post. We aren't interested in why you think we shouldn't be watching a show that we are all enjoying; and, that we enjoy sharing ideas with other people here on FR.

BrBa IMO was one of the best written shows in a LONG time.
I don’t care about morality of it.
It was a wild ride and very entertaining. I loved it. And it was something I could share with my family.
