He may have been lost, he may have been lonely, but a kitten down on his luck changed his life by boarding a CTrain.
It was a dark night in September when the feline was spotted prowling inside the Barlow/Max Bell station.
The 6½-month-old tabby charmed strangers he met along the way, enjoying an ear scratch or two.
When the kitten bounded up to the platform, he came into view of Calgary Transit’s security video.
Staff watching the screens did a double take when they noticed the obedient kitten sitting patiently behind the yellow line, waiting for the incoming train.
As the train’s doors opened, the cat climbed aboard, lapping up attention from delighted riders clamouring to pet him.
Transit staff intercepted the stray as the train pulled into City Hall station, taking him to safety.

6 1/2 months and already eight pounds? T.C. is one big kitten!
Awww...fangs, again, S&A. I’ve SO been thinking about a kitten, but I have a friend who is very allergic, and I’m afraid that even pet dander on my clothes would be too much for her immune system.
So I will wait for a while. Maybe I can find one that is hypoallergenic!!

That is one little Einstein kitty. Pickup on how the two leggeds do it, then did it too. In every animal species there has to be a bell curve on intelligence. This little kitty is in the far right side under the curve.

You can’t really train a cat the way you would train a dog, but cats DO learn things by observation. They definitely aren’t stupid...

My Mother had a cat named Bear, all black, big guy, who watched her unlatch the screen for the back porch and learned to do it to get out. When she put a hook up near the top of the screen too, he simple climbed the casing and unlatched that one too. He was famous for letting the possum in to eat cat food on the porch. But when the possum tried to share Bear’s cubby hole one winter, Bear ran the possum off and stopped letting him in. When Speck, his sister, would be outside and bang the screen door, bear would go unlatch it so she could pull it open and come in. He never latched it back though ...

I watched my cat follow my wife into a room. she closed the door behind her and the cat reached up with two paws to the door knob and try to open it...he’s dangerous. He also figured out how to trigger the garage door and follows us out to the car.

I have a wild raccoon mama who reaches up and pulls the back door handle (I have handles not nobs) to let me know she’s on the porch for her dog food treats. I have placed a small can over the inner handle that is tied with a string, allowing it to fall and clang against the steel door when she pops the handle outside. Her five kits finally started accompanying her to the porch and three of them still drop by occasionally to get treats. I open the back window and they climb all over me to get to the treats first. They LOVE oatmeal cookies ... but then, so does Lazamataz.
Be very careful, We had a big ol 25lb black cat. Beat everything in the neighborhood but a raccoon. 60 stitches later he let the raccoon eat his food anytime.
