So the zombies are at your door. Death is upon you, but the gun shop is just a block away. You make a run for it, and you make it to the most extensive armory for miles. Time to make a decision: Which guns do you grab? Contrary to popular belief, not every gun will do the job the same, so to help make up your mind on which guns will save your life, here are my eight best guns for the zombie apocalypse.

AA-12. If you can find one. Youtube it...
.22 revolver and rifle (or WMR)
.357 or.44 revolver and rifle
AR-15/10
12 guage
.308 or .30/06 for longer range uh, work.
I have an SKS, an 8 shot “home invasion” pump shotgun and a 22 with a scope. I still need a pistol. I really don’t enjoy shooting or hunting so I still have pretty much all the rounds and shells I’ve ever bought for the guns. I’ve fired off a few to calibrate the sights/scope and the get the feel of the guns.
I suppose I should look at a 30-06 rifle some day. I’m put off of those for the same reason I’m put off of getting a pistol: when I have the money, something more important comes up.
Hard to mount on a VW bug. Maybe in an A-10 warty-hog.
It is best to repent of your sins and accept Jesus as your personal Savior and Lord. That way you can leave all of your preparation supplies to those who are left behind.
Whatever you use, it needs to be a silenced firearm that uses subsonic rounds so you don’t attract more zombies. And given that it’s a zombie apocalypse I’m thinking you won’t need to worry about the Federal law that requires you to pay a $200 tax for your silencers.
:) I like the way you think! Being out gunned wont be a problem for you...getting it around will but thats another issue.
Is that from an A 10 Thunderbolt? (Warthog) 30mm Cannon?
Put it in your LR facing the front door.
I sold all my firearms to that guy at the gun show some time ago
I’d want a few shells with DU pellets, just in case...
What kind of weapon you need depends on what kind of Zombies you are dreaming about. I think I will choose the Bible just to be safe.
Glock
AR
Hi-Cap shottie
Agree with that...but hey, if you are gonna leave some guns behind, make sure they are the right ones.
Kel-Tel P-32 for pocket carry.Glock 26 for inside the waist band or on a belt.
Remington 22lr rifle for getting dinner.
Ruger SP-101 .357 revolver on a belt for stopping power.
Ruger SR-556 AR-15 for killing zombies (very clean shooting due to piston-driven operating system).
I don’t believe in Zombies, the real live people are the ones that scare me.
UZI, FN-FAL, HK-91-A3, Galil 5.56, AR-15 w/.22 conversion kit, Browning Hi-Power, 9mm Glock, .22 Browning Buckmark, .22 Calico M-100, assortment of 12 Gauge shotguns
DUDE,
OPSEC.
Don’t advertise EVER
You broke the first rule of Prep Club
Then, if you are blessed by the Lord, one 81mm mortar, and Claymores.
Jmho.
5.56mm
That narrows it down to:
AR-15 (primary choice)
M-14/M1A (gotta love the heavy metal)
Remington 700 (it's a stretch, but it meets the above qualifications.)
I am aware that the AR is not as reliable as an AK, nor can you bury it in boiling radioactive mud under a monster truck rink for a year and then whip it out and have it work perfectly, as you can with an AK. But when an AK finally DOES break (and they do), or you run out of ammo, you won't find spares or reloads on the bodies of the "zombies", either.
Looks like you’re set with the addition of a pistol.
Don’t worry about the 30-06, the SKS will do what you want.
Now there is a Law that needs to be repealed so old guys with bad hearing won't incur further damage.
I’ve got 2 out of 8. Best get cracking!
In that situation, anything that’s loaded that you know how to use will be just fine.
The Cletus Readiness Package:
I tend to think that life in the USA will go on in peaceful fashion but that doesn’t mean I won’t be able to answer the brown-shirt knock on my door.
(i) Taurus Judge with multiple quik-loads of 45 ACP and 0.410 sabot slugs (ask me about this load when I answer the front door!)
(ii) 16 guage Semi-auto with “bandalero” buck shot loads back by sabot deer slugs as “swat repellant”. 16-GA cause it is a great bird gun, too.
(iii) double, separate layers of cinder block -no grout-with 2 shooting lanes, intrinsic.
(iv) half-face, grey-canister protective mask (thank you mr. employer)
If I am forced to hunker down (see -iii- and -iv- above) I suspect I will be found watering the Tree of Liberty.
Dont worry about the 30-06, the SKS will do what you want.
That’s kinda my take. Though a nice 30-06 with a scope would do it with style. :-)
I'd guess that a slightly modified P-38 could handle one.
An A-10 Warthog would be even better......
Shooting zombies is just target practice, you want the guns that will let you carry lots of light ammo and large magazines, with little recoil that lets you rapidly engage multiple targets while expending as little of your own energy as possible.
Lever action rifles take you off target and use your energy, shotguns do the same and the ammo is too bulky and the weapon capacity too small.
What you want is a simple bullet injector that can inject bullets quickly into lots of targets and for which you can carry lots of rounds for.
Boating accident.
As an 07/02 FFL/SOT my choice is my Ruger 10/22 with a Norrell trigger pack and integral suppressor. FN 5.7 for crowd control;) FNP90 for final protective fire. M1917a1 for final stand.
When you absolutely, positively got to kill every mofo in the room..................or on the planet for that matter. lol
Marlin model 60 .22lr. Fun as heck, cheap as heck, and while the round isn’t too big by any means, it will take stuff down. Not an elephant gun, but it will keep a lot of marauding urban types at bay.
And the armored vehicles they rode in on.
Two high-capacity magazines for that would fill my 2 car garage.
An A-10 Warthog would be even better......
On our way to Cabo once, we landed the Citation at an airbase at an air base in CA or AZ (I don’t remember which) where the A-10’s were doing touch and goes in pairs. We were pretty close to the runway and standing on the tarmac just watching. It was a real treat for me and my wife (we’re both airplane nuts).
No, but one of these aught to hammer most any nail, in a pinch:
Just a wish list to replace the ones I may have had if not for the boat capsizing. Sounds suspicious don’t it? LOL!
I always keep in mind that, when confronting a government that has unlimited money and unlimited firearm resource, I will lose.
In the words of Inyigo Montoya, “Prepare to Die”.
I’m good with God on that side.
Nice! Does that go in the AC130 Spectre gunships?
M4
.300 Win Mag
.22 rifle
several semi-auto handguns (.357 Sig, .40, .45, 9mm (only because ammo will be plentiful to pick up))
12 gauge pump
compound bow with arrows when you need to be quiet cooking supper
Don’t I need the A-10 accessory for that?
