Hussein Doodle went to town
A-riding on a girl's bike,
Stuck his Koran in his kufi,
And called it macaroni.

Hussein Doodle went to town,
For to give al Qaeda arms,
A real Congress would impeach and feather him,
And save America's justice, Law, and charms.

English language learners frequently complain that English is macaronic, with lots of different languages and rules mixed into it. Es verdad.

Macaroni

There was this Yankee Doodle, who had a special hat,
By donning plumage he could eat! Now can you fancy that?
Or was it that he decorated it for it was rather plain?
I can’t see how he’d otherwise have anything to gain.

He put a feather in it, and called it macaroni.
That makes no sense to call a hat, perhaps he meant his pony?
That can’t be it, of course, it’s from a story line,
About a girl who had a horse, a girl named Caroline.

The horse was white ... no wait a bit, her house was all in White,
And everywhere she went her pony kept her in his sight!
Or was that Mary, who can tell? This tale is not so neat,
I think because of hunger pangs. So tell me, can we eat?

NicknamedBob . . . . . . . . . . . . July 7, 2005

Where else could I use it?

Obamus Maximus the macaronic
Has delusions that make him moronic
And Michelle, just to please her
Is treated like Caesar
Is she or is he more demonic?

Macaronic

This is a very complicated word. Sort of Maca Ironic! People eat that stuff and shake in a Macarena or maybe in a mac arena. Very complicated, this macaronic.
Then there were all those ventriloquists in the “macaronic Western” movies.

My neighbors, who are Korean, call their mixture of Korean and English “Konglish.” They’re going to love hearing that its a macaronic language.

I took NRO to task on twitter this AM for their Morning Jolt popup that comes up every single time you navigate from one section to the other.

Dreary and humid-but there is a cool front on the way tonight...

The ideas thrown around in DC
To see if some will stick
Are the same confusing mess
As a well-worn magic trick

To be sure, the language is
As macaronic and confusing
As conversation at the UN in
A latrine everyone is using...

A word here, a phrase there
They’re just putting on a show-
And honesty is something that
Far too few of them know...

This tune fits my mood today-

“I must’ve dreamed a thousand dreams
Been haunted by a million screams
But I can hear the marching feet
They’re moving into the street.

Now did you read the news today?
They say the danger is gone away
But I can see the fires still alight
They’re burning into the night.

There’s too many men
Too many people
Making too many problems
And not much love to go round
Can’t you see
This is a land of confusion?”

Or maybe this Doors one, for the weather-

“Riders on the storm
Riders on the storm
Into this house we’re born
Into this world we’re thrown
Like a dog without a bone
An actor out on loan
Riders on the storm

There’s a killer on the road
His brain is squirming like a toad
Take a long holiday
Let your children play
If you give this man a ride
Sweet memory will die
Killer on the road...”

A bit dark, maybe, but Halloween will be here soon...

I remember in the days of youth the animated, macaronic conversations of my parents with their siblings & friends in “Polglish”. Sadly, everyone in that family generation is now gone...

LMAO as well-the 1st husband and I hung a fake “body” from the big oak in the front yard for Halloween. Nobody ever complained about it, and all the neighborhood kids knew it wasn’t real.
