NASHUA, N.H., - Some parents with children at a New Hampshire elementary school said they disagree with the principal's decision to ban playing tag at recess.
Principal Patricia Beaulieu of Charlotte Avenue Elementary School in Nashua posted a statement to the school's website saying the playground game was being banned due to recent injuries involving games of tag, WMUR-TV, Manchester, N.H., reported.
"Playgrounds offer a chance for children to be active," Beaulieu wrote. "However, playgrounds also have risks, and numerous injuries have resulted recently on our playground, prompting us to review school playground rules with all students."
"As you know, the traditional recess game tag involves one or more players chasing other players in an attempt to 'tag' or touch them. However, the force with which students 'tag' varies greatly," the principal wrote.
Some parents said they believe the ban takes safety too far.
"One incident leads to, 'Lets ban everything,'" parent Jacquelin Thompson said. "Our kids should be wrapped in bubble wrap and sent to school. It seems kind of silly."
Some parents said there are more hazardous playground activities that are not banned at the school.
"There's other equipment they can get hurt on," mother Sara Sullivan said. "I think it's taking it too far."

The real reason is because, when they tag someone and say “You’e it!”, that’s offensive to transgenders (who really are “its”)
Tag was the official recess sport at my school. And was a sleigh way to show a girl you liked her when you made an obvious effort to chase her despite better targets.
Seriously schools today are just thieves of childhood.

I never remembered this being an issue, ever. The tagg-er never socked the tagg-ee, that was simply unthinkable.

First, they came after “Smear the Queer”. No one said anything because “queer” is “wrong”. We said, “They’ll ban tag next”, and were told we were just being paranoid. We know liberals and know their end goals.
Should I even bother to ask if they allow “Smear the Queer”?
Those kids aren’t wearing elbow and knee pads. That omission was enough to get the Post Office to destroy many “Let’s Move” Obama stamps last week.

Tag is not fair for short people or the physically challenged or those in wheel chairs.
It is about time someone took a stand against this ancient pagan practice that harms the mind of loser as much as it causes physical harm. It is a male dominant practice alluding to the the superior status of the sperm that gets to the egg first. It perpetuates the myth that there are winners and losers and that all are not equal. Lets end this barbarism once and for all.
No knee protections?

There was a pic on the internet of a little girl going off a ramp in a Big Wheel, and the caption was F Yea!. Classic. Can’t find it though.
Here’s the real reason the NH principal banned tag — it wasn’t to protect kids — it was about revenge. When the principal was a small child, she was never chosen to play tag. Since those traumatic days, she’s harbored a deep seated desire to revenge herself on those who “wronged” her. This is her way of exacting revenge — by taking it out on the defenseless children at her school. She is deranged.
One can be forgiven for wondering if the Moslem ban on placing “females” in any position of authority has historical roots.

I would think short people would be at a slight advantage in tag, you have to stoop down to tag them.
What’s more amazing is there’s a school that still has recess.
The past year or so I’ve noticed a huge number of ADULT bicyclists who get to an intersection, get off their bike and then PRESS THE CROSSWALK SIGNAL!
Easily 50% of them then go ahead and get BACK ON THEIR BIKE and ride across the intersection when the 4-way crossing signal starts.
WTF??!! When did such pansyish behavior start? I’m not talking kids here but grown men or 18-19 year-olds.
They need to make up their minds. Do they want them to move more so they won’t be fat? Or do they want them to sit down at recess don’t get hurt but then might get fat?
