TOKYO, - A Japanese company said a limited-run product marketed as wine for cats is made of Cabernet Sauvignon juice and catnip.

B&H Lifes, a pet food manufacturer, said the cat-oriented beverage, Nyan Nyan Nouveau, officially went on sale Tuesday and only 1,000 bottles of the concoction will be sold at a price of $4 per bottle, Japan Daily Press reported Wednesday.

The company, which also produces Wan Wan Beer for dogs, named the wine for Beaujolais Nouveau, a popular French brand of wine, and "nyan nyan," the Japanese translation of "meow."

I’m pretty sure that grape products are toxic to cats and dogs.
Why not beer for cats?

Are grapes and raisins poisonous to dogs?

Grapes and RaisinsGrapes, raisins, and even currants (some currants are actually small, black grapes) are toxic to your dog! In fact, there have been anecdotal reports of cats and ferrets being affected by these also. Ingestion of even a small amount of grapes, raisins, or currants can result in severe, acute kidney failure. All types of grape- or raisin-containing products (including grape juice, trail mix, bagels, etc.) can result in this. Even organic, pesticide-free, grapes grown in home gardens can result in toxicity. Although the mechanism of action is not clearly understood at this time, grapes and raisins can result in anorexia, vomiting, diarrhea, and potentially severe acute renal failure (which develops several days later). The toxicity is not necessarily dose-dependent, and symptoms can occur with even small ingestions. Decontamination (i.e., inducing vomiting, decontaminating with activated charcoal, etc.), aggressive supportive care, aggressive IV fluid therapy, and kidney function (i.e., BUN/creatinine) monitoring is recommended.http://www.petpoisonhelpline.com/2011/09/are-grapes-and-raisins-poisonous-to-dogs/
