He isn’t much of a legend because I don’t even recognize his name, much less anything he’s supposed to ever have done.

You know...

I’ve avoided doing the Twitter thing for a while.

But I may have to start an account, just so I can directly respond to assh*les like this Gammon clown when they make stupid statements.

I never heard of this dude, either. And I don’t care to.

Gammons is a massive liberal from Boston. He frequently puts his liberal views into baseball conversations. When his face comes on the screen at MLB network or when he was at ESPN, I turned the channel. He is nothing short of an Obermann type. He is a liberal spewing, conservative, American hating pig.

I’ve followed baseball my entire life as a Cincinnati fan, not a bad baseball town. Others on FR have followed baseball more closely than I have, and they don’t recognize this clown either.

And not even recognizing a name doesn’t bode well for the guy being a “legend”.

Maybe he played in the 1960 little league city championships.

Probably why I watch less pro sports today. I don’t even know all the MLB teams anymore. Getting sick of football too. Politics infects all of it.

To make you break with the past, America's history and traditions much "CHANGE". So said Michelle Obama.

They've already torn down the historic ballparks. They've gheyed up the NFL.

We Red Sox fans know uber-lib Peter Gammons from NESN (New England Sports Network)... I didn't realize he also worked on ESPN.

I'm not surprised at his latest stupid hateful attack on conservatives. He just can't help himself.

Just STFU and report on baseball, Peter! Nobody is interested in your hate-filled opinions of Ted Cruz, the Tea Party, George W. Bush, and/or all Republicans and Conservatives!!

Next time I see Gammons at Fenway, I think I'll yell: "Hey Peter: Ted Cruz 2016, baby!"

‘NFL Kicker Punts for Gay Rights,’ ‘NFL Goes Pink;’ and ‘Obama Invites NBA Boston Celtics to LGBT Fundraiser.’

I admit my husband and I are big MLB (and minor league baseball) fans, and NHL fans as well. You really don't hear this pro-liberal, pro-gay stuff on a daily basis. We hardly hear any of it at all, and we watch a lot of baseball, and attend several MLB and MiLB games a year.

Peter Gammons is a big Massachusetts hate-filled liberal. He's well known up here in our liberal neck of the woods (we live in the People's Republik of Connecticut). We never pay any attention to him.

But you can keep the two thugball sports: the NFL and the NBA. The NBA in particular is dead to us.

We'll watch college basketball, March Madness and all of that, but the NBA? It's like we don't even know it exists anymore, and we like it that way.

That’s why I watch soccer... They mostly use British announcers who don’t interject politics into things.

I've tried to watch soccer... even attended a few matches (games?) in the UK in past years, and on some college campuses in the US.

Alas, I just can't get excited about soccer, no matter how hard I try...

I don't care for soccer, however I am part of a small group of FReepers who follow the Tour de France cycling race every July (You can look for our threads then, if you're interested).

Yes, we despise the cheater Lance Armstrong, but overall, it's an interesting sports event to follow. No political commentary from the excellent US-based announcers on the NBC Sports Network. So far, anyway...

The publicity department at ESPN.

No, see RetiredArmy's post in #24. Peter Gammons is a massive conservative and Republican-hating liberal from Massachusetts. He just can't help himself.

I'm not saying Connecticut-based ESPN is totally innocent, but - believe me - this is how Gammons (and Keith Olbermann) REALLY think. If you call these comments "thinking"...

As it is, I have many blogs and things I follow and respond to... Twitter is just one more place to leave a digital footprint.

Which is why I haven’t joined it.

But stuff like this... it’s almost a moral imperative to reply directly to the douchebag.
