that series has definitely stayed with me as far as picturing the end. my Sat was spent in a series of bridal stores, no one was raptured up out of them bc it was full and busy. by and large our experience has been a good one. we did have one b!tchwoman from H@!! on Saturday, which made for a good story. It was a snooty place, but we can handle the snooty. this woman insisted on telling xsteen [who will turn 25 on Friday!] that she would never find what she wanted [a wedding dress with long sleeves] when we have been to enough places to know that if a dress has any sort of sleeve at all they can put a long sleeve on it for you. xsteen wants a sweetheart neckline with lace overlay. B!tchwoman says, do you have boobs? i can’t tell with what you are wearing but given how small you are i’m guessing not— well the flatchested would be better served with a v neck, yada yada. then when it became clear that they really didn’t have anything that she liked regardless of price [she asked up front what our budget was, i said we didn’t have one, since she has not been able to find anything that she wants] she said, what about bridesmaid dresses? are you as picky about those as your gown? I am not making any of this up, these are verbatim quotes. We came home and as i was relating it to xshub, we went on Yelp and started looking for reviews and this place was universally listed as the WORST place to go, bc they are rude, nasty etc. The woman that waited on us was the owner’s daughter. I honestly don’t know how they stay in biz with that attitude. it was so far and away diff than anywhere else we went. All three of these salons were in Old Town Alexandria. the last place had something she really liked and the ladies were extremely nice and can alter it to add long sleeves.

Well, meow! What a conversation coming from a salesperson at a bridal shop, of all places, where bridezillas are the customers-and what is with the aversion to long sleeves the woman had? I guess they don’t appreciate the business they have-sounds like they deserve the bad reviews...

The cub’s first dress had tight, long lace sleeves-it was a cost-a-month’s pay confection of stiff lace with tight-fitting satin underneath, sweetheart neckline-the cub has huge boobs-flared from the knees to the floor in gathers, and so encrusted with faux pearls, crystal beads and crap all the way from the neck to the floor that is stood by itself. Bought at the Hispanic bridal place...

She itched through the entire Mass, and halfway through the reception, changed into the going-away dress. The second time around, she bought satin and trim, and had a very pretty softer dress in a sort of Cinderella style without that overdone bling made-but she did have that bridezilla moment in the fabric shop when the store next door caught on fire.
