Despite what you may have seen in other headlines, there will be no change to the male uniform cover. Straight from the Commandant of the Marine Corps Gen. James F. Amos:

1. The President in no way, shape or form directed the Marine Corps to change our uniform cover.

2. We are looking for a new cover for our female Marines for one overriding reason: the former manufacturer went out of business.

3. The Marine Corps has zero intention of changing the male cover.

I expect that we will soon see General Amos relieved of his command, to be replaced by a Lesbian of High Rank, who will quietly implement the change.

Girls in combat, gays in the Marine Corps, now Girlie Hats for the jarheads. Obama has done more to humiliate our armed forces than John Kerry and Jane Fonda combined.

Dan Daley was certainly a man’s man. He uttered one of my favorite quotes of all time. Pinned down at Bellau Woods he is reported to have said “Come on you sons of bitches. Did you think you would live forever”.

Now that takes a set of gonads to say that in the situation they were in.

The wife and I are also former Marines and the new cover isn’t that much different than the WM cover from the early 70s and before. If there was an attemmpt to make it more like the Dan Daly style cover of the early 1900s then they’ve failed. I don’t see anything particulary bad about the true Dan Daly style I don’t think there is any reason to change from the wheel cover.

The Dan Daley is not that bad if it matches the uniform color. Making it white is what throws it into gayland. If you keep it white, which looks really good, you need to keep the 1922 cover for males.

Being promoted is the means to introduce politically correct ideology into the ranks. I hope the retired veterans who are like Gen Gray who spoke at the Beirut memorial will become vocal, unite, and form a counter offensive to the post-modern agenda.

I don't know about that. I can tell you there are only a couple pictures of Dan Daley and not a whole lot known about his life. He died not too long after retiring from the Marine Corps. One thing is he was pretty short so Gunny Highway wouldn't have fit that bill... : )

One things for sure about that movie, they took every Marine saying they could find and crammed it in that movie. When I first saw it, I couldn't stop laughing because I probably heard everything he said in that movie within a couple days previous..
